Always wear one, use a JSP 725 Moulded Typhoon Valved Mask Disposable Mask. They have a adjustable elastic strap and a wire over the nose part which allows you to ensure a close fit. I wear glasses and they do tend to fog up slightly. Would like to purchase a Trend visor but cannot justify paying over £200.
Hi welcome to the Village. I to am a newbie and just learning, i am also from the UK, just wish that Scrolling was as popular here as it is in the US. I visit the States most every year and bring back many wood working mags. Best thing about the forum is the advice, thanks guys!
Thanks for your advice, thats what i need to do as i am prone to be a little hard on myself it i cannot do it right straight off. I will keep your words close. Bye Gordon
Hello
I am new to this forum and to scroll sawing, since retiring i've been looking for a new hobby and invested a little money in buying a Proxxon DSH Scrollsaw. I have upgraded it by smoothing and polishing the table and buying a selection of Swiss saw blades. I have been bought a few good pattern books for Christmas and i am now looking forward to getting proficient in its use.
I have done general woodwork all of my life and remember my dad making lots of items on his treadle fret saw and still have some of his patterns from the 1930s.
I holiday a lot is the USA where there is a lot of woodcraft done, pity is not the same over here in the UK unless you know better and if do please share!
Looking forward to many hours of scrolling!
