  1. Maybe I am getting a little carried away. But I am really enjoying this. And I have been giving a lot of away to family and friends. Everybody likes Angels and Crosses
  2. I started using the Oneida dust deputy about a month a go.I collected about a bucket full of saw dust and nothing in the Vac at all. That is amazing how they work.I would have used 3 Vac bags with that much saw dust. The thickness planer and the Router kick out some chips
  3. I have been using it for oil dry and other spills then to hazmat collection.
  4. I bought this vac a little while ago But i use it just for the scroll saw and have it running thru my Dust deputy. It also sits along side my Fein vac in a semi enclosure so the noise is not bothersome.I just switch suction hoses when I use the Fein for Router table and thickness planer. It is a nice little Vac.
  5. See I am new at scroll sawing You do not use a momentary foot switch. Your saw is running all of the time. What do you do for inside cuts. What the company suggested was using a foot switch,it is enough to cool the Vac down while cutting
  6. Well I recieved the DV-10 vac today and did some cutting. As far as being Quiet,it is as loud as my Fein Vac when it is on High. On the Fein I have the option to turn it down The noise is not that annoying. Not as near as bad as some vacs that i have used. The suction is very good for a Vac this size. I was surprised with that. The Cyclone Canister does a very good job of collecting the majority of the dust. They include a three way to attach to your foot switch. They do mention that it is not for constant on.So a foot switch is needed. It is all metal construction The little funnel comes with a magnet attached so you have some good options to mount.I think it is a goo set up for dedicated dust control.Hope this helps
  7. The reason why I am asking is I just ordered sanding belts for a scroll saw from Wooden Teddy Bear.I ordered Pin type and it mention that I could use them on the Hegner.but I also have a Porter Cable that I could use them on. So I took the clamps off of the hegner and mounted a pin blade where the clamps mount.I adjusted the tension a little and the the pin blade works fine. There is a very very little fore and aft movement And I do have a lot of pin blades But that was not the reason
  8. I just read the owners manual about using pinned blades on my 18V and no mention of it.Has anyone tried a pinned blade on there saw.I just tried it and it seems to work.
  9. bb. Even has variable speed
  10. Thanks Steve The canister and the Auto switch is what made me interested My big vac also has the auto switch That is a nice option.I hope it works out or back to square one
  11. Noise is a factor. My fein is pretty Quiet. But it is just a pain to jury rig it to the Scroll saw. I will let everybody know how it works out especially the sound level. From what I understand it is made here in the states.Seyco and the manufacture both have good reputations.
  12. I tried jury rigging my Fein Vac to my scroll saw.It is a pain in the neck to keep switching back and forth. I looked for a dedicated system just for the Scroll saw. Went on to Seyco web site and they had one. DV-10A anyone familiar with it. I went and ordered it. I need to do something. This fine dust is as bad as a Sander.
  13. Dave this is what I do not understand being a new guy .Everything black is cut out.It is a black back ground?
  14. Thanks for the encouragement. I guess I will keep the scroll saw then.
  15. New Guy. First time making saw dust.
  16. I just bought a WEN 4X36 from amazon. For what i need it works perfect. It is cast iron base Pretty heavy,But still able to lift it .Sanding belts are reasonable and easy to change.I also bought a spare toothed drive belt for insurance .Amazon has them and are cheap enough. The only problem I had was the plastic knob that holds the side table on, Could not get it tite enough. So I replace it with a socket head bolt.It was a little loud with the 80 grit belt that came with it,but it did quiet down with the 120 and 220 grit.
  17. Yep the the main arms was bent to one side when I checked the blade with a small square.I just forced it back over a little at a time.It worked I don,t think you could do that with any other saw without breaking something
  18. That is what I thought until I started spraying .Then I looked at my tractor about 5'away.
  19. Thanks I am a new guy i bought the Porter Cable about a month ago so i want to compare the 2 .But because i just put the Hegner back together .I notice It is just a simple design very few moving parts that could go bad.I hope it works out for me.
  20. i just received my used Hegner Multimax that I won on Ebay.It did not survive the trip to well.i decided to go over the entire saw this week. The fan housing was pushed in,rubbing the motor fan. The top and bottom arms were misaligned. After taking care of those problems i ordered a a few parts from Advanced mach. The saw is now like new.So decided to touch up some of the scratches after I fixed the fan housing.Low and behold the Paint I have for my Kubota Tractor matches perfectly. So if anyone that wants to touch up there Hegner.A Kubota dealer for a rattle can will do it.
  21. Have been hanging around for quite awhile .Carpenter for about 30 years but new to a scroll saw.Just goes to show you at 72 and never to old to learn.Plenty of teachers and good advice here.Tony
