  1. A pattern by Alex Fox. He lists this one as C15. I modified the pattern by increasing it by 25% and not cutting the bottom ring, but leaving it attached to the next to the last ring making the ring less fragile. I used 1/4" solid Walnut approximately 10 inches square. The holes drill with #68 bit and cut with FD UR #1 blade. The finish is spray Polyurethane Clear Satin. Comments welcome.
  2. Thanks Jeff. A fun project to cut. Glue up not so much.
  3. Well done, Dan. They look great.
  4. Way to go. I think a black frame would make it pop.
  5. Way to go, Rob.
  6. Very well done, Bobby
  7. Thanks Irene. I plan on making another one this weekend.
  8. Thanks Katie. You are right I prefer candy too, especially Tootsie Rolls.
  9. Very well done.
  10. Thanks Dave. Several things kept us busy. The fourth quarter is always busy at ArtCrafters.
  11. Well done Steve. The colors really pop.
  12. Thanks Steve. I showed the piece to an artist in ArtCrafters. He was more interested in the shadow it made rather than the piece. Go figure.
  13. Thanks Dave.
  14. Thanks Dick. These will probably be gifts.
  15. Thanks Marge. I appreciate your comment.
  16. That is why I increased the pattern by 25%, but it was still fragile. I will be more careful in sanding.
  17. Very nice scrolling and great ideas.
  18. Not for gluing the rings. The rings need to be advanced 5 degrees, so I move them until exactly the right position.
  19. Thanks Gordie. Cutting did not take long, just watching glue dry!
  20. Thanks Melanie. How about Tootsie Rolls.
  21. Good idea, Paul. Got some!
  22. Thanks RJ. Not sure what it could be used for.
  23. Thanks Paul. When sanding the bottom ring on the mac mop, the ring blew apart in three pieces. I was able to glue them in place on the ring above.
  24. I purchased the Bowl C-30 pattern from the Etsy site of Alex Fox. I enlarged the pattern by 25%. The wood is solid 1/4" Cherry 10 inch square. I used #68 drill bit and #1 FD UR blades. I finished with a spray coat of Shellac. The most time consuming was the glue up. glue a ring, let dry for 30 minutes, and glue another ring. While waiting for the glue to dry, I cut three Miniature Birdhouse Ornaments. Comments welcome.
  25. Very well done.
