  1. Thanks Edward. I have finished several projects from that particular issue.
  2. Thanks Roly and Paul.
  3. The pattern is by Sue Mey and found in SWWC Winter 2017 issue #69. I used 3/4" plywood stained walnut for the backing. The stable is 3/4" quarter sawn Sycamore. The figures are 3/4" Flame Maple, which I didn't know until the finish was applied. The animal are 3/4" Walnut. This was a fun project to complete. I used FD Polar #5 blades and finished with spray Shellac. Comments welcome.
  4. If this is open to projects made some time ago, I made this in 2014. It is a Sheila Landry pattern.
  5. Welcome to the forum from another TN member.
  6. Melanie, it is a special edition magazine. There are two volumes. I am not sure if Fox Chapel still has some.
  7. Sam, the pattern is found in am=n old issue of SWWC Holiday Ornaments, toys, and gifts vol. 2 Fox Chapel publications may still have it available.
  8. What a great idea. I am not a designer, but I sure want to donate for the e book.
  9. I think you are right about the grain.
  10. Thanks Bobby.
  11. Thanks, I did not keep track of time, but you are right. When I need a quick project, I look at puzzles.
  12. Thanks for the question, Sam. I actually dilute the Shellac with 50% alcohol making a sanding sealer. This dries quickly and very little surface finish. With this finish there is no issues fitting.
  13. Thanks Terry. It was an easy cut.
  14. The pttern is by Judy Peterson and found in SWWC Holiday Ornaments, Toys and Gifts Vol 2. It is made from Poplar approximately 7" high. I used FD Polar #5 blades and Shellac finish. Comments welcome.
  15. Welcome to the forum from TN.
  16. Welcome to the forum from TN. Mixing the mediums looks great.
  17. Welcome to the forum from TN. Your fathers intarsia is works of art.
  18. If it is a reverse tooth blade, some teeth face up and will grab and pull the wood up. Don't push too hard, let the blade do the cutting.
  19. Thanks for all the nice comments. Kevin is so right, so many patterns and so little time.
  20. Thanks Jeff. My second project with Zebrawood.
  21. Thanks DW. A quick simple little project that turned out quite nice.
  22. Thanks Ralph. Making the rings 1/4" would lose the grain effect of the Zebrawood.
  23. Steve's design called for 1/4" material and 1/4" rings. I thought it would be a little too fragile, so I cut every other ring making the rings 1/2" thick. I hope this explains.
  24. Steve Good posted a pattern for a spiral basket last week, but like Steve I couldn't make it spiral. I used 1/2" Zebrawood and cut every other ring. I really like the look of Zebrawood grain. I used FD UR #3 blades and finished with spray Shellac. Comments welcome.
  25. Welcome to the forum from TN. I spent most of my life in MN. Almost 50 years in the Robbinsdale area.
