  1. That looks very nice Dan. i like it with the initial in it. My daughter uses her's when she's cooking and have thought about making her a stand to put her's on for that or for other uses. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Very nice. I keep meaning to make one but haven't gotten to it yet. Haven't decided what I want to make is the main reason. Thanks for sharing. I am sure your daughter loved it.
  3. Kevin - ummm, you are in way down in Southern Florida - if its too cold for you down there - how cold do you think our friends in Canada and the northern parts of the US are in comparison? (Sorry, couldn't resist - if its too cold in Fla - you know the rest of us are freezing - especially our Canadian friends like Jeff, GPscroller (it's presently a "balmy" (not) 34 here at a little after 10:00 pm but it's going down into the teens tonight and not getting too much above that tomorrow I don't think.) But I do like your crosses. Nice work.
  4. Kevin started a thread showing some of his older work he did a few years back in the "Other Woodworks" sub-section of the Village. It can be found here: http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/26996-those-were-the-days/?tab=comments#comment-301151 You are right - lots of excellent work done by Kevin.
  5. Welcome to the Village from East TN. There are a few GA people here. Your prototype looks fun and interesting. Will be interesting to watch your progress. Glad you joined us.
  6. Another beautiful piece Randy.
  7. Those look great Dan. Ours do not go to the bedroom. Everyone's stayed in the kitchen to charge. Some use their phones to watch videos, etc. and the stand is also good for that. (I do not, screen is too small. )
  8. I had previously purchased their CDs of back issues but they only go up to a certain point. Then when I started up with the saw in Mid-2016, I subscribed. I had some copies of a few I had bought in the store over the years so I tried to "fill in" with the ones I was missing in-between the CDs and when I subscribed. They arrived yesterday. Will enjoy reviewing them all to see what I missed.
  9. Nice work on those snowflakes Marge. I like Gordster's as well. Thanks to both for sharing.
  10. Beautiful piece of work you have crafted Paul. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Just a beautiful piece of art you have crafted Roly. It is amazing. I bet more than just your eyes hurt. The patience to do all that detail is something I know for a fact that I do not have. The wording alone - gives me nightmares to think about cutting! Yours is topnotch. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Should be able to give two reactions to posts like this - first part the sad face (to too cold); and laughing face on your wife encouraging you to bring saw in for ulterior motives to get you to do a deep cleaning. Fortunately our workshop is in a garage space that has heat and we also have a space heater in there we can use. We are cold here today, but not as cold as you guys - for which I am thankful.
  13. Merry Christmas to you and yours Travis. I appreciate all you do to keep this Village here and up and running for all of us. I hope you too got time to enjoy family and friends today and that Santa was good to you.
  14. a Very Merry Christmas to all our friends here on the forum.
  15. Merry Christmas to all.
  16. Ike, Merry Christmas and hopefully a Happy and Healthy New Year. Continued prayers for you both and her team of health care professionals helping here.
  17. Nice work and sure to be well received. I have my back to the door as well, tried to put up a mirror to see with but it keeps falling down. Need to find a way to get it hooked up.

Welcome to the Village from East Tennessee. Glad you joined us. Look forward to your participation and seeing your work.
  20. Why Frank - thank you so much for making me my own special ornament. That was too kind of you. But seriously, the intended Melanie recipient and the others are going to be thrilled with their personalized ornaments. I really like those and the special boxes that they go in. One of these days I am going to have to try some of those.
  21. Thanks for sharing Steve. Went to check it out here: https://foxchapelpublishing.com - scroll over the top red "Special Offers" area and it will give you a popup with the code. See the screen captures attached.

A Tennessee welcome to the Village. Enjoy your new gift from Santa.
  23. Sorry to hear you've been ill Edward. It glad to hear you are feel good better. Be careful, flu is nasty stuff. My husband said the other day that this year's flu vaccine is suppose to only be 10% effective against this year's strain unfortunately.
  24. Hi Skip and welcome to the Village. Triplets can be expensive and time consuming for the family no doubt! glad you have gotten them off to college now. Unfortunately, that means still some expensive outlays for you. I have two there now myself so understand. It was in part their going off that opened up me finding the saw as well. As my husband likes to say, happy wife, happy life so sounds like you are doing a great job on that one crafting her a farm table and desk.
  25. I couldn't agree more - I love this site and would be lost without it and all the helpful folks here. I have learned so much more then I ever thought I would when I picked up the saw to start doing in Intarsia work about a year and a half ago. So much so, that I have "lost" my intarsia work to trying other new things with the saw! I keep seeing new things I want to try. I still love Intarsia and just need to get back with some of it - but I think my skills in cutting and shaping for it will be enhanced due to my learning to do other things with my saw.
