Bruce creates beautiful Intarsia patterns. He has several "christian" themed ones that I love. I have ordered a few of his patterns and they were delivered promptly and efficiently.
  4. Scott is very quick and prompt to replying and delivering orders. I have purchased several sets of ornaments at various times and always got them promptly. I have also ordered some "customized" ones and the work by Harvey was excellent and timeframe for delivery prompt as well. I love cutting these puzzles. They are very addicting. Plus, I think they are great "practice" for cutting on the lines - something that I need to perfect for my Intarsia work.

    The Art Factory

Someone had shared in the Village some "ribbon ornaments" that Dirk Boelman had designed and had been previously shared in one of the magazines. I checked their site and couldn't find them. I reached out to Karen and she was quick to respond and get them out to me at a reasonable price. Her service was excellent.
  6. I have had the pleasure of taking the Beginner and Intermediate Intarsia classes at JGR's studio in Syemour, TN. I have also used several of her books and patterns contained within, and purchased several patterns from her site. I have also purchased the flex sanders, the wonder wheel, blades and other items from her shop. Excellent classes, books, patterns, and help. Her support staff is top-notch as well. If you are ever in the Knoxville, TN/Sevierville/Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area - well worth taking a trip to check out her beautiful work in her shop. (Note: her location is not accessible with an RV. You need a car to get there.) Can't recommend her classes and patterns enough.
  7. I have purchased patterns from Kathy's site and used patterns from several of her books. All are have been great. If ordering patterns, you can order with "red line" or "black" line - but be sure that you note correctly for each one.
  8. Very nice and I am sure well received. Thank you and your fellow firefighters for all you do.

Changed Pattern Designer to Jeanette Square primarily, Lucille Crabtree (a few)
  10. Thanks for setting this up Travis and all you do for us here at the Village.
  11. Nice job, but I'm with the majority here. Jan's painted one definitely adds some "detail" that takes it up a notch on this one.
  12. Interesting isn't it to hear and see different people and their usage of different saws and preferences. I started with the Type 1 Dewalt that we had had for years when I "tried again" with the scroll saw not quite two years ago. After taking my class at JGR's studio and using an Excalibur I thought the Excalibur cut better and smoother then my Dewalt. So when Seyco had a used purple one pop up on their site, I jumped on it. It became my go to saw over the Dewalt. Used it for better part of a year. Then hubby bought me the new Seyco last May for a joint Mother's Day/ Birthday gift as a surprise (not because I was unhappy with what I had.) originally, in part because he bought the new saw I used the Seyco as my main go to saw because I really had been happy with my Excalibur. The Seyco is still my main saw I am using. The Excalibur is setup next to it, plugged in and useable. The Dewalt got unplugged and moved out of the shop. I just felt the Dewalt did not run as smoothly as the other two. Now, in defense of the Dewalt, I am not a technical person who wants to break things down and do repairs and I did think it probably needed some "love" there. Hubby could do it, but his time is a precious commodity so I had never asked him to do so. Maybe one of you repair minded experts might pass through and check it out sometime.
  13. Since when does a guy read the manual?
  14. See, I think it's Ike many things - it can be in part what you use first and get used to. I took a class with JGR almost immediately when I got started with the saw almost two years ago which means I started pretty much with the oh line blades as that is what she uses in the shop and classes. What I got use to. I like them. Bought them from her site for home use. Then, I found all you wonderful people here in the Village. So many recommended Flying Dutchman that I decided to get some and give them a try. I didn't really like them. Presently I don't recall what I didn't like about them as it has been a while since I tried them. Figured, in part, it was probably more me then the blades so figured I would try again at some point. I have tried a few others recently. For example when I tried the compound cut ornaments I did. Changing the blade to one without reverse teeth made a tremendous difference there as suggested by several on here. So, as a relative newbie who is not a "technical" type like many of you, I can't give real insight or information on the differences and why I like one or the other but did want to say I like them.
  15. Another Tennessee welcome. Glad to have you and look forward to your participation.
