  1. I like it with the flag showing. Excellent cutting and framing. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Beautiful wrk all around. You two make a great team. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Maria will be thrilled to see it I am sure. Glad she brightened your day.
  4. Glad things are settling down and you are getting your shop organized.
  5. I'm with the others, if she can't tell you what she wants - move on - she either doesn't really want it - or is never going to make up her mind! Looks good in all versions.
  6. Beautiful work Steve. Thanks for sharing. @Frank Pellow - It is a Kathy Wise pattern that was published in the Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts (SSWC) magazine in 2008 (according to Kathy's note on her site.) She doesn't list which issue but if you need help figuring it out, let me know and I can check the CD's I have. If you don't have that issue, they are still presently selling back issues of the magazine for $2.00 each if you buy 5 or more I think so that might be a good option for those looking for some patterns at a good "price". There is a thread on here that explains how to find that deal here: http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/27102-sswc-magazine-old-copies-are-on-sale/?tab=comments#comment-299526 If no back issues of magazines, or don't want to purchase any to get the pattern, Kathy does have it available for sell on her site and it is a "download" for $8.00 found here: https://store7626357.ecwid.com/#!/Cardinal-Wreath-Download/p/61488757 If you like these wreaths - Kathy has a large number of them on her site found here: https://store7626357.ecwid.com/#!/~/search/keywords=wreath&offset=0&sort=relevance I know at least this one with variety of birds (which also includes a cardinal) was also in a SSWC edition in 2004 - you can see it on the cover of the back issue here: https://foxchapelpublishing.com/scroll-saw-workshop-issue-17-holiday-2004.html (I think some other's may have also been in the magazine over the years but not positive.)
  7. Yes, I knew that several of those patterns are Sheila Landry and Keith Fenton's designs and others were Sue Mey's. I always check for artists sites first and then, if I can't find it, go from there. Fortunately, other then Intarsia patterns, between here, Iggy's site with Harvey's puzzles, Steve Good and SSWC magazine I haven't had the need or time to buy many other patterns.
  8. @NC Scroller Scott, yes fixed now and I can see all your photos. Ecellent work by all your group. I am sorry for the loss of your friend. Sounds like she was a blessing to many.
  9. More awesome work you have crafted Dave. Thanks for showing.
  10. $3,99 from WTB (unless you buy 25 or more then $3.75 each); $3.00 from Iggy and Harvey gets more $ per pattern via Scott's setup. I always prefer to spend my $ where I can get the Artist the most money (why I try to go to the artist's website if they have one) and in this case, that's through Scott's site and still saves me a a dollar (well .99 cents to be exact.) I got my catalog at the end of the week last week. Noticed the spread and noticed that several of those "new" ones they have listed are ones that Harvey did at Scott's request. Now, that's not to say that I didn't see plenty of other things in that catalog that I would like to try one day so WTB will still see some of my money I am sure.
  11. Same as rj and Paul. I only see one picture of the 3 in the one post and then cannot see the ones in your second post Scott for the same reason, takes you to the site but requires you to sign-in to see the pic.
  12. I'll throw in my - why - why East TN - family is number 1. We have all 4 seasons, but even with that "winter" is normally fairly mild and seldom much snow. We have "spurts" and occasional issues with really cold weather or big snow storms but not often. When we do get a heavy snowfall, it doesn't usually stick around too long but warnings of such does send everyone off to the store for bread and milk. We have never been so bad that husband couldn't make it (slowly and carefully) to work (because his job means he really has to be there.) We have beautiful springs and falls. Summer can get hot, but then again - usually not that hot for an extended period of time and that is why most everyone and every place has air conditioning. You can see from the temperature "averages" that we run the gamut throughout the year. However, that means that we truly have all 4 seasons. We don't have a 6-9 month winter but about a 2-3 month "mild" winter usually. Often you can go out with no coat, and sometimes short sleeves! (Now we have been unseasonably cold the past week but its suppose to hit about 60 later in the week.) The saying around here is if you don't like the weather, wait a day or two and it will change. We have a number of rivers and lakes and the Great Smokey Mountains in my backyard and within a day's drive of the beach and other areas if you want to go. Most people boat on the water for more than 6 months out of the year probably. We don't have hurricanes we do sometimes get the rains from them and we do have the occasional rare tornado but they are truly rare. We have all the conveniences and stores nearby and I can pretty get anything I need or want locally. Our "rush hour" is not an hour most of the time and I can get to most any place locally within 15-20 minutes and I live outside of the "city". I didn't worry too much about what or where my kids were or them driving when they got their license. Like Tomlee - I'd rather be cold then hot - for the same reason, I can keep adding layers when I'm cold but can only take off so much (without going to jail when you are hot!) Like Rockytime, Les, noted - home is where the heart is. We have traveled to many places in the USA and in the world, with many places still on my bucket list while many have been beautiful and enjoyable to visit - there is still no place like home. We have been to California a few times, we spent 10 days traveling from San Francisco to Southern Calif. (Laguna Beach) last summer - the traffic alone would keep me from staying very long. Besides, just think how much more crowded California would be if we all wanted to live there.
  13. Those are very nice Paul. Looks like you are having a nice time on your winter break in FLA away from the bitter cold and snow you left behind. Good to "see" you too!
  14. Another Tennessee welcome to the Village. Look forward to your participation here.
  15. Jim, these look great. I always love looking to see when you share a new inlay project. How was the corian to cut?
  16. I pretty much hit them all. I don't want to miss anything. I love the Bragging and Intarsia sections because I love seeing everybody's work. Since my initial interest was Intarsia, I like seeing the projects shared there. I love the help and tips and information shared in the General Section and elsewhere. I checkout the other woodworking section to see what else others are doing besides scrolling and have shared some pics of my hubby's projects there as well. I like the patterns area, seeing what people share, ask for, and seeing the different patterns that are provided and seeing how they did it. I love the coffee shop and jokes and friendships and checking in and wishing happy. Irthdays that occur there. I pop-in and out as time permits and I check threads I haven't read since last visit. Really doesn't take too long unless I miss a day. I always mark the sections and forum as read so next time I come visit, it's only ones with added comments or new posts that show with new activity.
  17. Nice work on all of them. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Welcome to the Village and a belated Merry Christmas. Nothing like a new saw that expands on your abilities. Nice work you have shown. Look forward to seeing more as you work with your new saw.
  19. Very nice work. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Hi Frank. I have this pattern to do, I think I even have it cut out. Just need to do the sanding work. The pattern is by Judy Gale Roberts . The good news is that is one of her free patterns available on her web site. You can find it here: https://intarsia.com/pages/download-free-intarsia-patterns Very nice job on your's Brian. I hope mine looks half as good (if I ever get around to finishing it.)
  21. Another welcome to the Village. This one is from East Tennessee in the good 'old USA. Look forward to your participation.

    Puzzles

Those are nice Dan. I gave several of the dog ones out for Christmas gifts. Thanks for sharing. Because you did and were looking for the bobcat, I went to check my Woodimals Animal Puzzles Book by Jim Sweet (Fox Chapel Publishing) https://foxchapelpublishing.com/scroll-saw/woodimals.html to see if it had a bobcat. It does. There are about 55 patterns in the book covering wild animals in the woods, in the water, and in the wild as well as some dogs and others. It also has the raccoon you did above. I have an Aunt who loves raccoons so I need to cut that one for her. You can find the book cheaper at Amazon with free prime shipping if Prime Member here: https://www.amazon.com/Woodimals-Creative-Animal-Puzzles-Scroll/dp/156523748X They also list some of the individual Woodimal Puzzle patterns here: https://foxchapelpublishing.com/scroll-saw/woodimals.html including the bobcat but they all show "out of stock" for some reason. I Did find just the pattern alone at this site http://www.scrollsawgoodies.com/shop/bobcat-puzzimal/ as well as others. At $4.95 per pattern, clearly, if interested in doing several (any more than 3) it is more cost effective to buy the book.
