  1. You did a wonderful job on that. The rounded outside really gives it a very nice finished look.
  2. That is beautiful! How large is it and what is the wood? BB?
  3. I have ordered from Bear Woods several times with no problem. Orders received in about 7 days.
  4. I don't know but I'd brag about it. It looks great!
  5. What wood is that?
  6. That is really cool. The depth of the wood gives character. I'd like to see it with the burnt edge.
  7. Terrific project. That must have taken some time. The cutting is nice but those lazer tags look great.
  8. I'm with you Ray!
  9. I guess I'm not alone with my nose practically on the tabl3
  10. Welcome Doc.Always happy to hear from the land down under. A number of scrollers here from down your way. I know you will enjoy being here as much as we will enjoy having you here.
  11. Really, really cool!
  12. What do you mean "Just a Cow Picture?" I really like the cow and calf. When I was a kid my job was to teach the little calves to drink from a pail. I would put my hand in the milk bucket with my fingers pointing up. The little calves would suck on my fingers. When I slowly removed my fingers they discovered they really could drink on their own. Nice Job!
  13. Major is quite an understatement! It is absolutely gorgeous. I love it!
  14. I'm a bottom feeder but I think with the new style blade holders with a little practice I could be a top feeder. Not that I want to.
  15. Yesterday I started cutting a portrait from 1/8" BB and double stacked it. I started cutting with a Pegas MG #1 blade. I had trouble following the lines because I had difficulty separating the black lines from the black blade. The blade is so quick that it caused me to over cut at times even though the speed was cut way down. I scrapped the piece. Today I went to Office Depot and got red patterns. I cut some new 8X10 pieces affixed the pattern. I began cutting with the #1 Pegas and even with the red pattern it was too aggressive. I switched to a #3 Pegas MG blade but soon I discovered the few reverse teeth at the bottom of the blade tended to lift the pattern in very small areas of cutting. I am using 2M 45 spray adhesive and use a roller to make sure adhesion is achieved. It happened cutting small areas around the eyes. I finally switched to a #1 Olson Skip Tooth which seems to be about a similar size to the #3 Pegas. I was able to increase the cutting speed and still have excellent control. That has been my experience. Everyone else's experience may vary.
  16. I guess I am probably in the minority. I adjust my stool so that my saw table is about halfway between my elbow and shoulder. I cut with my wrists often on the table and my face very close ti the table. I use 3+ reading glasses and use red patterns. I admire the scrollers that can sit straight up or stand and see what they are doing. Gives me a good whiff of sawdust too. Don't worry about sawdust as other things will get me first.
  17. First thing that comes to mind is the spring at the back of the arm.
  18. Faberge carved eggs were made for the Romanovs in Russia. Currently the most valuable one was sold for $9million. However his eggs were made of gold , jade and other precious metals and stones. Not to worry Rolf. I'm not expecting that. However I know you will do very nice work. You certainly have the talent.
  19. What a wonderful gift. I hope to see your work. I've watched carvers making birds with a Foredom which was fascinating. I know you will have a great time with it! f
  20. Just search Steve Good in you tube and all his videos will come up.
  21. That is very nice and you have cut it beautifully. Nice pattern and framing.
  22. Don't know who that is but you did a good job cutting.
  23. Those are very nice!
  24. Ray, I have given up any intention of learning Inkscape. For me it is a waste of time. I would much rather scroll and do other things than spend time learning software. 10 minutes to Office Depot and it is done. Also they will enlarge t fit whatever I want. I just give them a percentage for enlargement and it is not only quick but inexpensive too. I admire those that use it and master it but i'm not much of a software guy. Rather use a wrench or a hammer.
