    I also use a #7 Blade. For me, when I cut thick pine I use the skip tooth to discharge the sawdust more efficiently. When cutting pine with the grain the blade cuts much more slowly than against the grain. This is not so prevalent with hardwoods.

    I agree with the aggressive cutting. My friend Clay that has the PS Woods machines cuts like a house afire. Makes me dizzy. He scrolls at top speed. I don't know how he does it. He cuts a lot of thick pieces and uses only PS blades. I guess everyone has their own style of cutting as I do. SLOW.

    I am very much hearing impaired. Having recently visited my audiologist, she said my hearing had decreased some since my last visit. She recommended hearing protection when using my shop equipment. I have the typical heavy hearing protectors I used at the shooting range but they are bulky and uncomfortable quickly. I used foam plugs for riding but they are not real comfortable either. I ordered these on Amazon. Just received them so do not know how effective they are. They are comfortable though. The bluetooth sets are useless to me as I can no longer decipher music. So I'm wondering what others are using.

    I have a clamp made from Steve Good's plans but I did not use it. Since there were no cuts going to the outside of the blank it was not needed. I normally drill my holes with the Dremel router attachment but discovered it would not drill deep enough so I used my drill press. 1/8" drill.

    I have offered to cut portraits of his youngsters. He also gave me some bog oak. I made him a pen with it.

    I am fortunate to have a neighbor who has a business that builds exotic things for very high end houses. The make curved staircases, arches and other things. His dumpster is full of various hardwoods. He brought me an armload yesterday.

    Steve Good mentioned that HD had 2x2" clear pine. I bought a length and it is exactly 3/4X3/4. Eight footer was about $12 with tax. So this is my first try with a Steve Good pattern. Started with an Olson #5 skip tooth but switched to a #7 Pegas MG. Still needs some sanding and de-burring.

    Hi Whit and welcome to the Village. I have a friend that has numerous scroll saws including a 14" and 21" PS Wood saws. They are his work horses. He is a full time scroller and loves them.

    Thanks Rolf. I did that and printed it out. Very small to read. I enlarge the pdf on the computer and it reads well.

    Thanks Melanie. I did as you suggested. What comes up is: I fish therefore I lie and On your mark get set go. Also you are correct about Steve not selling patterns. I still think the patterns should not be passed around since does depend on contributions. I have cut quite a few if his word art patterns as well as others. I download lots of them but if I cut one I always donate 5 or 10 dollars.

    I'm anxious to see your saw and know how you like it. My friend has two and swears by them.

    Ooops. I kinda misspoke.While I do like the pattern I would not expect anyone to share it since it should be purchased from Steve Good it indeed it is his pattern.
