  1. Brad, I have the link-loc from Bushton. To mount it requires drilling holes in the stationary arm. The bracket supplied will not work so I'll have to fabricate another one. Also the link-loc is way too long. I'll have to remove four or five links. I"ll have to remove the arm which is easy in order to drill and tap the arm. They did not make it simple.
  2. I went to Labcor today to have a blood draw. I was wearing a red shirt. When the little gal was about to wrap my arm I asked if she had wrap that would coordinate with my shirt. Sure enough she reached in a drawer and came up with a red wrap. I could perhaps, find red painters tape to match the saw.
  3. My Hawk is equipped with just a simple small plastic tube for dust removal. I do have a Link-Loc kit to replace the little tube. My question is this: Do any of the Hawk owners put up with the little tube. Other the Link-Loc what do you use? I cut about six inches off the tube. I have no idea how the previous owner used the saw with that long tube. I suspect the saw has had little use as the table is absolutely scratch free.
  4. I just think it amusing. I have to clean it up a bit. Especially the green hold downs.
  5. The signs should really get attention. They look great. Good to see you posting again.
  6. Great names.
  7. Yes they are. She will love it.
  8. Your names look terrific!
  9. Dick, you've done very nicely!
  10. Darn good looking dragon. I love puzzles and word art.
  11. He certainly should appreciate it. It is lovely.
  12. That's one good looking VW.
  13. WOW! You are so talented. Beautiful box.
  14. OK. Now that you have all settled down I'm going to show you my dust collection system. I need to go to Woodcraft and get another gate and rework some things. I visited the local ACE and picked up some odds and ends. The hose that terminates under the saw table comes from my CPAP machine. It couples perfectly to 1" PVC. The green hold down clamps are of my own invention. Real men use duct tape. I use painters tape. Not sure what it says about me. The 1" tubing is six feet long so only used a short piece. I did find out that reducing the suction intake does not increase suction but does the opposite. However, it has plenty suction to do the job. I plan to replace the green clamps with clamps made with rare earth magnets. Soooooooooooo here comes Dust Control. I've settled on the last photo that I'll go with.
  15. I used to wish for a four car garage allowing me to work on my cars. That was a longtime ago. Now I can scarcely bend over. I envy my son-in-law that does all his own auto work. My friend that completely restored his 1967 Caddy. You are fortunate not only to scroll successfully but have room to work on other projects like your cars.
  16. I am no genius, but here is what I do. I took JT's suggestion and started using a #5 Penguin Silver reverse blade. It cut so cleanly I was impressed. Smoother than a baby's bottom. This is what I cut from 3/4" Poplar.
  17. My 220VS Hawk Ultra is up and running. How sweet. Smooooth as a baby's bottom. I have the motor and new controller installed. I installed a blade and set the tension and gave it the smoke test. It cuts! I did not realize how much larger it was than the 216 until they were side by side. The stand is about the same size but the scrolling portion is so much bigger. Now when sitting on my stool my nose is at the blade. I'll have to get a taller stool or only exhale when I saw. I'll have to hurry and finish my DC so I can inhale again. The 16" did everything I would ever do but the front tension release is so nice. I suppose I'll sell the 16" as I have no room or use for two saws.
  18. Cool, cool clocks.
  19. Great pictures. Thanks for posting.
  20. The likeness is uncanny. Very good.
  21. Really glad you are getting some good rest. It should do you good to get rested.
  22. I'm sure your cutting will be much appreciated.
  23. I like the biker and the serenity cutting is beautiful.
