  1. There are generally three weights, thin, medium and heavy or thick sometimes called gap filling. Accelerator comes in spray cans or sometimes in spritzer type containers. Used to use lots of it in model building when I was in model railroading. Some people keep it refrigerated to prolong it's life.
  2. I'd have to loose the few marbles I have left before attempting that.
  3. Beautiful cutting. I'm sure you made Grampa proud!
  4. New small blades can be super aggressive. I saw a few strokes in oak to reduce the agressiveness. 2/0 and #1 blades try to run away on their own for me especially when I'm making a sharp turn.
  5. I did paint the white and black. I saved the cut outs for the taillights, painted them red and glued them back in.
  6. I don't do a lot of compound cutting but I'll do this one. Thanks.
  7. Very impressive cutting! Well done.
  8. That's one cute Teddy!
  9. Some really great cutting. I like it!
  10. The cyclone goes into a sealed container. It can be anything. My next one will be stuck in a coffee can because it has a sealed plastic lid. Reinforce the thin plastic lid with a couple of plywood discs, cut a hole in the top to insert the cyclone. Cheap and easy.
  11. A Sam Custodio pattern. 1/4" BB. #1 Pmg.
  12. I agree with you, you must be nuts. But, you are doing beautiful work. I would not have the patience.
  13. Gonna give that a whirl.
  14. Under no circumstance would I cut MDF because of the dust. However today I tried cutting Bagetta's floating bears puzzle from 3/4" MDF. I am totally impressed with the little cyclone. It is hyper efficient. There was not even the odor of MDF. However, my olfactory sense is not great. I've been using the cyclone for a couple of weeks. I removed the vacuum filter which was new and there was no sawdust in it whatsoever. While cutting I could see the sawdust flying over to the pickup tube. It was kinda cool to see. I'm anxious to get the plastic cyclone for my other saw. The space saving is significant.
  15. Thanks. That would be tough for me.
  16. Very nice. I can't imagine cutting that. You did a great job!
  17. Gorgeous! Who makes the pattern?
  18. Great looking car and nice finish!
  19. Great cutting. What Harley owner wouldn't love it?
  20. Welcome to the Village John. You're gonna like it here. Lots of friendly people here willing to share information. Jump right in, the waters fine!
  21. I recently purchased a miniature dust collector. Octoolguy aka Ray made me aware of it. We both ordered one. The attached photo shows it in a plastic form. The ones we got were cast aluminum which are no longer available. I forget the measurements but the unit is like seven inches tall. I placed it in an Oggi container also available from Amazon. The thing is there are no complicated connections. The hoses are from my cpap machine. The are replaces every so often. They are also available from Amazon for $5.99 for a ten foot hose. The two orifices on the DC are one inch which is exactly the same size as the hose end. The slips in easily and firmly. The PVC fittings are just one inch pipe and fittings. It is sort of plug 'n play. The vacuum source is a very noisy Oreck hand vacuum and the dust collection is spectacular. Both on top and bottom. The photo next to the last is an old photo and shows one side capped which is no longer the case.
  22. Have not cut too much lately. Rather chilly and don't care to heat the shop and been busy with a dust collector. Today my wife moved her snow shovels out of the way so I could get out my table saw. I can't do everything! Anyway I cut up a little piece of 1/2" plywood to saw. I seldom cut plywood except for BB but I had forgotten how nicely it cut. Even construction plywood can have some interesting grain. I cut this with a #3 Pmg blade. No finish. That will happen during warm weather outside.
  23. You did a great job cutting!
  24. Wonderful cutting and a wonderful thing you are doing for your friend.
  25. Very nice! I love cutting cedar.
