My wife and I head up to Grand Marais nearly every fall to enjoy the last of the temperate days before the snow flies and to enjoy the fall colors, cascading rivers and Lake Superior as we make our way up to Grand Portage. We love that area. My dad grew in "The Sault" (Sault Ste. Marie) and became a naturalized US Citizen just before WW II.

  20. I have pretty much settled on Danish oil followed by wipe-on poly. Before I do the finish coat I will leave the plaque outside in direct sunlight to bring out the red in the Cherry.
