  1. Beautifully clean cuts. I'll bet the 'a' in Sheila caused you a little surge of cautiousness!!!
  2. Nice work!!
  3. Beautiful!!!
  4. Yup. Just when you think you are making progress with your cutting skills, you try something like this. Happily this plaque when finished will be viewed from a distance. The Swedish Dala horse is really a spartan version. Here is what the fully fleshed out version looks like: The Norwegian Rosemaling comes from Vectorstock.com page 25355. I would guess that a great many of the denizens of the Village have never seen the Dala horse. You have to live in a Scandinavian-influenced culture to fully appreciate it (let alone pay the dollars to buy one!).
  5. Making a Swedish Welcome (Valkommen) plaque for my daughter-in-law's birthday. Couldn't find a pattern so I am working out my own. These are the test cuts on the Dala horse and the Rosemaling trim.

  8. I agree with your statement but I don't think that is what is going on with General and the EX. Since the basic saw is already in production under different brand names my guess is that the manufacturer hit General with a significant price increase or an increase in the minimum order size (or both). If General is struggling to maintain profitability that would force them to reevaluate carrying a tool that is somewhat niche market and one that has many lower-priced alternatives. If we see a return to a healthier economy they could decide to bite the bullet and reintroduce the product.
  9. Hawkeye: I experienced bends like that when I was struggling to make clean tight corners. It turns out I was putting way too much pressure against the back of the blade and that caused the blade to bend forward relative to the portion locked into the lower blade clamp. Bruce

  14. There is an Excalibur 21 for sale on Craigslist that looks like it is unused for $650. If I hadn't already purchased mine, I would be all over this. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/tls/6199443220.html Bruce

  17. Dwight D. Eisenhower once said: "Being shot at focuses the mind wonderfully." You understand this sentiment in a way that rearranges life. After surviving an event like that, even the little blessings seem huge and the truly important things in life are brought into bright focus. I pray for your full recovery. Proverbs 4:20-22

  19. As you are searching for your personal favorite be sure to try the Flying Dutchman Ultra Reverse. Of all the blades I have tried, they are my favorite. Bruce
  20. I have been using these full sheet pre-gummed labels over blue painter's tape and covered with clear packing tape. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006HV9HU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I am pleased with that combination.
  21. Very nice. Now we need one for Minnesota - Born and Frozen.
  22. Visually, I prefer the one without that section. It draws attention to the owl. Nice work.
  23. Excellent job. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Nice!!! How do you transport all of the puzzles and not end up with a pile of parts and an impossible assembly challenge?!!!!!
  25. That is some beautiful work! Thanks for sharing. Bruce
