  1. :confused:I just added some more projects to my User Gallery and Bragging forum. In the User gallery I am able to rotate the pictures for proper alignment. In the Bragging forum I could not find a similar option. I even rotated it in my file directory folder and sill no joy. I tried both of the upload options. What am I missing or is that not an option in Bragging Rights? Misaligned and befuddled.
  2. Well... Wife wanted another clock. Found this design on Pinterest. 3/8" BBPW with 2 each 3/4" Pine board backers. Actually easier to cut pattern than cutting and matching up the 2 backer boards. After a fair amount of filing and sanding, drilled some guide pins to keep everything even and then Titebond glued them together and clamped. The clock works are from Clockit. Looks like there may some less expensive clock sources around. Pinned nailed face pattern to backer, and of course, wife did the painting. The clock inventory keeps growing... Not looking forward to daylight savings! LOL!
  3. Thanks all, this was another request of my wife. She did the bead work on the feathers. She makes jewelry also.
  4. Great Looking clock. Color contrasts really work well.
  5. Thanks' all. I used Poplar. Very fragile! Tips of feathers broke more than once. I just finished a project using Bubinga box and I broke so many blades, I didn't want to break so many on this project. I think I only used 2 blades. I tried some spiral blades because of the very irregular shapes and narrowness of the cuts but the blade would pull up the pattern and I could not follow the line. I went back to puzzle blades with better results.
  6. Another quick Sue Mey Project. Eagle Dream Catcher.
  7. My wife and I thank you for your kind words. Starting on another clock I found on Pinterest. May have started an addiction!
  8. Thanks all again for all the nice thoughts. My wife paints all the time and in fact, we are running out of walls for all her paintings. At one time, she taught a technique called "one stroke" where the brush is loaded with several colors at one time. I have to say I did, very much, enjoy this project but making the back presented more problems. I was fixated on making sure all 3 pieces were perfectly even. I glued and pin nailed them together and did ALOT of sanding to make it look even. After spraying it semi gloss black, I realized the detail was not so important. The color hid any blemishes still there. Now I'm on a mission to find a similar clock pattern.
  9. My wife and I thank you for the compliments. The two pictures are actually a before and after. She liked it so much, I may have to do another.
  10. My wife found this pattern on Sue Mey's site and fell in love with it. "Happy Wife, Happy Life" Fun project to do. Backed up the frame with some scrap pine. Clock was from Clockit. My wife painted the face.
  11. Welcome Aboard! Used to spend a fair amount of time on "the Island" when I lived in the area. A whole lot of great info on this site and lots of good insight if you are looking to upgrade your scroll saw. Post some pictures and keep making saw dust.
  12. Welcome From SC. Lots of knowledge and great people here!
  13. Welcome aboard from the south side of the mountain. Don't be surprised that for every question, you will get a lot of answers. All good! Scrollers are a helpful bunch. Remember to follow the lines and make more dust!
  14. Checked out the web site and with my HS German and being stationed there 3.5 years, was able to chew through it. It looks pretty good and I'm having my wife's family send me a copy. I should receive it after Christmas along with assorted goodies. I'll let you know how it goes.
  15. When I had my Craftsman Saw, I went to Walmart and bought a aquarium bubbler pump. It had 2 ports and got a "Y" connector at Lowes. Actually tie strapped it to the saw and I bought an articulating nozzle from sears parts for a later model scroll saw.
  16. I am awe struck by the beauty of this piece!
  17. Welcome from the Up State.
  18. Welcome From the Up State. Keep making saw dust!
  19. Scroll Saw Village is a great place to hang out and connect with people with like interest. Used to live in the Hudson Valley in Fishkill. Beautiful area. I'm now not missing the snow in the Upstate on SC. Don't be afraid to post a question or show your work. It's always appreciated and members will gladly respond. Keep following the line and scroll on!
  20. I ran into a similar problem when I upgraded my phone to a Samsung 5 (battery) and Windows 10. I connect my phone to the computer via a USB cable. There is a pulldown menu at the top of the phone and it will display that I am connected to my network and that is charging via a USB cable. Select USB cable charging option and there will be several options, Charging, File Transfer, Photo Transfer, Software Installation, Midi and Media device. Select Photo Transfer and it should allow you to go to your file explorer and it will display your phone (Mine is SAMSUNG SM 900V)It will display PHONE and CARD. Check both and go the DCIM folder. Depending where you save your pictures, it should bring up all your photos on your phone in one of those folders. There may be additional folders in the DCIM folder and go to the one called CAMERA. You should be able to do a copy/paste on the ones you want and transfer to your computer. Hope this helps.
  21. I had an old Craftsman 16" and was pretty much forced to bottom feed. It could be tough with some of the vey small hole and not having a pattern on the bottom. Sold it last spring and got a EX-16. Even with lifting the arm, top feeding is the way to go and much faster!
  22. I've used Scroller's 2 sided 8 1/2" tape and it works great but it is expensive an I only use it for complicated patterns. I have also had good success with spraying contact cement on 2 sides of regular copy paper. Both come off easy with mineral spirits, OFF or a heat gun.
  23. I have been cutting for a little over a week and the hex screw backed out again (and the blade twisted again) Finally picked up some thread Loctite and no more movement on the screw. All good info from the gang!
  24. Picked up a sanding Mop/Ball at HF last week. I had been working on a wobble bowl and the shellac had raised the grain even after sanding. Put the mop in my drill press and it got into all the crevasses. It did the trick. Later coats of lacquer came out smooth and perfect! I'm hooked!
