    Marie, It's great you were able to visit with Paul. He speaks highly of your talent and I know you had a lot talk about. I noticed he was wearing his Marine t-shirt. Those guys are tough to keep down. Get well soon so we can talk again.

    I had called Paul and left a voice mail. I received a text msg back from Paul's son. He is in a rehab facility and is getting better every day. He does say it will be a long way to go to gain his independence. His mind is still sharp and clear but he is a little self concious about his speach but it is getting better. He said he will contact me when he is better. Encouraging news.

    I was dumbstruck when I read about Paul this morning. We talk on the phone maybe once a month and always have great conversations about scrolling and other things. I'm hoping he gets better soon. He is a great great guy and miss our hour long talks.

    My first challenging project in a while was Stormy, our dog. My wife modified a photo in Photo Shop and then the saw dust started. Paul, Scrappile suggested I should try spriral blades again. I had a "0" blade and I got about a 1/4" and I lost the line from the sawdust. Went back to my skiptooth blade. It took about 3 days on and off. 1/8" BBPW and Laquer.

    The peach smoothies were great. Peel the peaches and cut up. Add crushed Ice and Vanilla Yogurt. Hit the blender and you're done. Use the thick straw.

    Thanks Gonzo. The house is a DR Horton house that was built 3 years ago and we moved in last November. The previous owner had lot of problems with the garage floor and because of many cracks, the warranty kicked in and had to be replaced. They had the floor buffed out and also removed the curb at the front of the garage. I have a wall hanging shop vac but most times I just use the electric leaf blower to blow it onto the driveway and grass. I use the Vac for the big stuff.

    The CFO layed down the law. Clean up when your done or sweat it out in the garage until it's tidy. I get a nice cold beer if I've been good.

    Thanks Jerry, I'm ready to start cutting if things would just cool down a little. My projects have to start early in the cool of the morning I have a S/W facing garage so the sun starts shining in around noon. Then its time for some water mellon or peach smoothies. The free-stones are out now. July Prince variety.

    We are finally done with our down size move (3.5K to 2K house) go figure, the garage shop is the last thing to be done. Closets by design. My wife said if you are going to make saw dust, Keep it neat looking. I had not done any scroll saw work since last August. There was alot of packing and throwing out and donating stuff but we are finally settled into our new(3 years Old) house. Karol wanted a sign for her new Art Studio. Probably to remind me that it is her domain. She still comes into my shop to make sue I keep it clean and then asked me to do another project? She wanted a tree of life and she painted it. I'm working on a pattern of our dog, Stormy who is all black. There is alot of detail with all the dark hair. I have to get my scrolling up to speed again before I attack this project. I'll knock out some of those small fret boxes I have done it the past for gifts to our new neighbors. BTW I had to cool down with this 100 degree temp. Some cold watermellon did the trick. The red t-shirt covered my slobbering.

    I decided to make a few more small fret boxes with mahagony and ordered 6 each 1/8 x 6 x 24 sheets from Ocooch Hardwood. It came in 3 days and the wood was packed beautifully and the wood was perfect. Time to make the saw dust!

    I did a search one the web"1972 chevelle ss scroll saw pattern" and found that Charles Dearing at Wooden Visions has one. Always quality patterns.

    Thanks Jerry, Pink Clock?? What kind of wood is underneath. It's usually veneer but nice. We have a Howard Miller Grandfather Clock and I always lub it once a year to keep it running good. I have to because the local Clock repair shop closed up a few years ago. Heal up well from your surgery so you can start scrolling again.

    Assorted house projects, travel and a lingering summer cold have kept me away from my saw, but now I'm back. My wife ordered 2 Alex Fox patterns cut and they went fairly fast. The aircraft came from my sister's 80's birthday party guest. He mentioned that he had recently flown on a Hawker 800EX business jet. Told him that I had worked on the earlier model, Hawker 700 back in the early 80's. Conversation touched on all sorts of aviation topics. Decided to surprise him with a cutting of the 800. He received it yesterday and was totally surprised and thanked me profusely. Dinner and drinks are waiting the next time I'm in the area.
