  14. I prefer the thicker older ones Kevin I tend to find the orchestral old albums are normally fairly thick for some reason whether that was the label that recorded most or not I do not know but if I find a box collection of say Bach or something like that I almost guarantee without lifting the lid they are gonna be nice and solid I always pick an album up give it a wobble see how flexy it is then decide single cut stack cut. I have yet to find one to brittle as long as you use spiral, but then I do not turn the speed down on my saw for records like some others do I find at full speed it cuts better and does not tend to melt back in as you cut I always clean every cut after straight away as well with an old toothbrush that stops the chips and fuzz setting hard on the album which makes final finish so much quicker nothing worse than sitting for an hour filing album chippings so as a habit I clean every cut I do before I do the next it takes seconds if done every time rather than hour or so if left until the end. I would love to find an easy way to remove the labels they must stick them on with something that should be marketed for general use it would hold up an out house. I even tried mayonnaise as I see a tip online for it that did kind of work but left so much gunk behind save it for the sandwich I reverted back to leaving the label on .The label is not an issue being left on it just tends to tear sometimes when removing the blue tape unless you go real slow I tend to give my labels a quick light spray of matt lacquer that helps loads and as long as I remove tape slowly around the label rarely get a tear any more. Try a 78 Kevin see what you think when you get a chance check the price of the album first though it may be a golden one you never know I had one from my usual source the other day worth over £50 I took it back to the charity shop with the details of the price and website to sell it on and they sold it that day to a collector and then said thanks Frank for your honesty look at these old frames here we cannot sell because they are scratched loose etc are any of use to you before we bin them errrmmmmmm yes boot full of frames thank you very much I will repair as and when I use one , It is true I thought one good deed gets one back
  15. Great pattern and cut they will treasure that for sure , Sorry for your loss.
  16. I see this in your library too is it your pattern I found on images in google lol
  17. See this go on Steve Goods site and knew someone who would want one so cut it in vinyl to add a bit of vinyl chippings to the floor as it has not had any for a little while. Glad I stack cut 3 as two of them where taken by my daughter and son as soon as they was finished .
  18. Had a few scraps of pallet wood roughly 5" x 4" from the viking chair I done so made these quick rather than let it go to waste.
  19. Cut from 5.5mm Ply with #7 Pegas Modified, Framed with a frame I rescued from the bin and re-furbed.
  20. What a great job that is Thanks for letting us see this
  21. Great Piece Wayne love the use of old materials too Thanks for showing us
  22. I would of took the items on but being in the uk with shipping etc it would cost too much, as far as using a Beatles record I would do as Ray said and google a label and use that as an original Beatles album is worth holding onto or checking market value first. I was going to say how I do mine but Ray has already said the main things so no point really, but Iggy I am sure you can cut these yourself no problem the main thing is blade choice I do not adjust the speed when I cut I prefer to cut quicker and that does not allow the cut line to melt back in but others like Ray turn the speed down it is each to their own I suppose I use a toothbrush to brush out the fuzzies after every cut out piece it saves loads of time at the end and the material does not re set itself on the vinyl . I have yet to find a non spiral blade that I can use without chipping the vinyl but turning the speed down you may be able to use one I tend to use the same size of blade I would use if it is wood, If you are going to use an original label on the record be careful when peeling the tape off the label does sometimes rip with it especially if you have cut into the label at all, If you are printing the label yourself no issues as you can apply the label after you have cut the piece. I find the older the album the better I tend to pick them up and see how much flex they got the real older ones I cut as a single no problem newer thinner ones I would say as Ray did stack 2 min, Give it a go first you may find it easier than you think if not I am not sure how far partime scroller (Ray) is from you but perhaps he will take on the pieces for you. If you need any other info @Iguanadon I will gladly tell you anything I know if it helps .Thanks for the mentions Paul And Melanie @meflick @Scrappile would of been a good project too if I was closer.
  23. Nice job and nice pattern I will need to go visit Scott and get me some more of his patterns Thanks for showing us
  24. I would lean towards turning on and leaving on until you are done the on off on off regular as it is with changing holes etc whilst scrolling may have an effect on the life span of the switch etc that is my thought for what it is worth, I have a dust collector in a little shed outside my work one connected via tubes etc that i switch on when I am at the saw and off again after I put outside the shop to try and get some peace from the constant WWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA of the thing but I still hear it not as much but it is still there what a great invention a silent one would be I have even thought about sound proofing the little plastic shed it is in but then I wonder will it overheat etc oh I long for a quiet dust collector I wonder if her indoors will let me put it in there and run a pipe to my shed probably not , thanks for the pictures of your hegner dust extractor add on a little while back by the way, I am on the hunt for the pipes I need that will help loads .
  25. Great work Monti it is always good to cut to the saw limits the tap tap adds to the background radio noise
