Ok, when is a scrap too small to save?

Ha! I have same problem glad it’s not only me. But I don’t only save scrap I hate to use even larger pieces even if I purchase them for the specific job. I love having and “collecting wood “ heck half of the stuff I save I don’t know I have or can’t even find it anyway. But as soon as I get rid of something I need it......... well that’s what I tell myself anyway. im not really a hoarder with other stuff and I’m very generous with anything I have but don’t touch my hardwoods! -

I haven’t been doing much with the weather getting nice now. Just did a couple small projects with the kids over last few weeks. The devil is our school mascot my son came home with a drawing one of students drew I turned it into wood.

Kevin you will probably spend just about as much on a good router and a large bit as you would on a planer.not quite.but close enough. But I’m not sure if a planer is going to work for you on end grain. I never tried it with mine. As mentioned earlier a drum sander is ur best option for end grain boards. But a decent drum sander is going to be pricey. You can u-tube diy drum sanders. Not sure how well they work but it’s something that’s been on my list for that old table saw motor I got laying around for ten years. Some day maybe lol

Try importing the patterns you have into Inkscape and then change the shape. Make them longer and shorter (oval or oblong) shouldn’t be too hard to do.

I don't like the square background. As far as stack cutting I think he wants the backer about a 1/4 larger. I would build a circle sanding jig. Instead of using band saw use disc sanded. This way you can cut the pattern a hair big use circle sand jig to perfect circle then just change center point on jig to sand backer a 1/4 larger. They should match perfect.

Wow! That's crazy! Beautiful job. About how long would it take you to produce that pattern? I'm just curious. Not how longto cut it. But to make the pattern.

They look great. I'v been recently getting into relief carving . I like it but I hate sharpening tools so that a problem. What you did looks good . nice job.

I agree the PL is great and I would've suggested that. I just found this link and this works good also. And if ur suggesting it's overkill . ur probably correct. But I never mind overkill. And it's not very expensive. That's what I would use. The PL works great.
