  1. I started with a delta 15" vibrated like crazy and blade changes were a pain. I got a delta 40-540 used for $60 a lot smoother and blade changes were better. Hopefully my last scroll saw is a new delta 40-694 20" runs great smooth, quiet and blade changes are a breeze.
  2. Awesome work!
  3. Welcome from Indiana. I taught industrial arts for forty years and just now got into scrolling because of student from forty years ago. I really did not know what I was missing because it's a nice diversion from my other woodworking projects.
  4. Awesome work Kevin, take it easy. Scrolling is great therapy.
  5. Welcome to the forum and hobby. You are going to enjoy scrolling. Your English is fine.
  6. I had a noise problem like that develop after a few uses. I found the problem after tearing down the saw three times. The bolts on the motor had become just a little loose. I tighten the bolts and know it purrs like a kitten. If you haven't check those bolts give it a try.
  7. Great looking clock!
  8. This my first attempt at fretwork. I found this project to be very satisfying.
  9. Nice score on the wood and drum sander. A drum sander is the last thing on my tool wish list.
  10. Welcome from Indiana, my son is a buckeye fan so I won't hold your being an Alabama fan against you.
  11. Yes they the ones Steve Good uses.
  12. I saw theses comfort knobs on YouTube and they looked good. They are an awesome addition to my scroll saw. They are easy to adapt to the original knobs, less than ten minutes and we were good to go.
  13. In my area there is three different woodworking clubs. A turners and chiselers club, a woodworking club. They meet on the first Sunday for the turners and the first Tuesday for the woodworking club. They always have show and tell and presentations. The third is a woodworking club that has a shop to work in with several machines are available to use. The $50 a year dues is a great deal they supply everything but the wood for your projects which you can buy cheap from the club because we mill and kiln dry our own.
  14. I bought a led light from ikea for 13.00, a magnet for 3.25. I turned a base on the lathe out of scrap. So I have 16.25 in my light and it works great.
  15. I have no HOA to answer too just city zoning regulations. My detached garage could only be 1000sqft. My wife lets me have all but her bay to park in. I also have 2 sheds one 12 x 10 and one 8 x 12 for storage. I feel for you could not see setting up a shop in either shed.
  16. I retired from teaching industrial arts 2 years ago. My last year they brought back woodworking and construction classes. I think they decided that college was not for everyone. I still have former students tell me how much they loved woodworking. Some students still drop by for advice on projects. So maybe the pendulum is starting to swing back where college is not the only alternative.
  17. I just got my 40-694 a couple of days ago. It appears they listen to negatives my air hose was attached and the saw runs smooth. As far as parts I checked their web site and parts are available also ereplacement has parts.
  18. I use got my new Delta 40-694. It took about an hour to assemble the saw and the stand. The instructions for the stand was missing, I got instructions for a zero clearance throat plate instead. Initial thoughts easy to setup and it runs really smooth. My son is really excited because it so much better than the old scroll saw. I made a light with a magnetic base for it for around $18.00. Once I have used it awhile I will review it.
  19. I have used the Dewalt 788 and just got the Delta 40-694 to me your move is a lateral move same saw different package.
  20. I just got the Delta 40-694 and stand yesterday. Saw runs great quiet and smooth. The stand went together easy even without instructions, I got instructions for a zero clearance throat plate instead. The saw itself was real easy to put together. Two bolts on the table and I was done because I don't use the blade guard. The air hose was connected unlike earlier versions. Price for the saw and stand $359 for saw and $74 for the stand. The saw is the Dewalt wrapped in a different case.
  21. I got a Delta 40-560 a few months ago and my boys really got into scrolling. I just ordered an upgrade a 40-694 because they will enjoy using a better saw as much as me. Hope to do some great projects this year with the father son shop time.
