  1. That is awesome.
  2. Received my latest copy of WOOD MAGAZINE today and found this Harbor Frieght beauty in the back. Thought I would share just in case someone was interested.
  3. Thanks for the advice. I tryed it and it did make a big difference.
  4. I have been making a lot of my projects out of cedar because I came across a stock pile of it that will last me a very long time. The problem I have is with the finishing. I've been using a spray polyurethane but it takes a lot because it just soaks in, especially the end grain. I was wondering, for those who use cedar, what you use for a finish?
  5. Finally a project I made for me. I made it out of a piece of car siding that has been laying on my bench for far to long. I was on my way to toss it when I walked past the planner and thought I would see what it looked like after the groove was removed. I added the green felt backer and a saw hook on the back side to hang it. The pattern was a custom order from Sheila Landry designs.
  6. I thinking of getting another saw. I've seen videos on the Jet and was wondering if any of you ever used it and what you think of it.
  7. Dave, that is a great job. As a scroller I really love the detail in the pieces. As a Brewer fan, OMG what have you gone and done.
  8. Lately I've been considering trying different scroll saw blades. I've been using Olson, and not thinking of changing because I have issues. Ive seen on other sights where people say Pegasus makes a better blade. Never used them, and wanted to see what other scrollers think.
  9. Just finished this project. The pattern came from Sheila laundry designs. I increased the size to 125% and cut it out of cedar.
  10. I while back I found some patterns I wanted to try from Wildwood Designs and now I can't find them. I know Cherry Tree has some of them now, but does anyone know where the rest are?
  11. I just tried Olson crown tooth blades for the first time. I didn't have a problem with cutting but they started ripping the pattern off the wood. Has anyone else had this problem? The process I use for attaching my pattern is using blue painters tape, applying spray adhesive, then clear packing tape. I don't think it's with the way I attach my patterns.
  12. This is the first project I have ever done with felt. (Sorry photo isn't that great) applied it with spray adhesive and I think it worked great. I got it at Walmart along with some other colors. Not to many store options here in the middle of nowhere Arkansas.
  13. Good morning, Now that there are two scroll saws in my shop, I am looking to get another foot control. The one I have know is just on/off and I'm looking for one to control speed. Does anyone have any good recommendations? Thanks, Troy
  14. Where in WI are you from? I grew up there in a small town about 20 miles east of Eagle River called Long Lake. After the army I lived in Oshkosh for 10 years before moving to Arkansas.
  15. Hello, Just recently started to get back into scrolling. I had some experience back in the early 90's before I joined the army. I don't even know the machine I had, think it was an antique before I got it. I have a Dewalt now and It's turning out to be the most used tool in my shop.
