    When doing fretwork, I sand it to 220 then spray a coat or two of shellac. Then apply painters tape, spray the pattern and apply it. Have removed patterns after a few months with no problems of fibers lifting. Jack

    Just wondering if you tried changing the "O" ring I mentioned a while back. Had the similar problem that drove me crazy when trying to make precision 3D cuts. It worked for me. Jack

    I had the same problem with my DeWalt 788 and finally resolved the problem by replacing the small "o" ring where the rear of table fits into the frame. I hope this is your answer also. Jack

    I haven't used shelf liner, usually use blue tape on 1/8"BB for fret work. Sand the wood with 220 grit, spray with two shots of shellac and apply the tape.I find that this stops the wood from lifting when tape is removed. Have removed tape that sat for a year without a problem. Jack

    Same here, all sorts of back problems. I found comfort by using a wooden stool, with bcak, that has the seat at 24-inches above floor level. I then raised the scroll saw table to 43-inches, which makes it just below eye level and allows me to just about look straight ahead when cutting. Being that close also cut down the need for magnifying glass most of the time. Jack

    I have this book and the patterns are full page size, two pages in some instances and the deer head pattern is on three full size pages. If you buy the book I don't think that you'll be disappointed Jack

    I mostly use FD Polar blades, which have burrs on their side due to their stamping process. To correct this, I pull the edges of the blades across anything made of metal/iron and this removes the burrs as well as most of the blades' wandering. Also, to cut a straight line, do not look where you are cutting, but slightly ahead of the blade JackM

    I finally got around to joining this site. Some of you may recognize me from the other forum. I have been scrolling for about twelve years and am a member of the Mid-Hudson Chapter of NWA. I live in northern Dutchess County (NY) and have seven day weekends (retired). Glad to be aboard, JackM
