I've been staring at it just for the calming feel it gives. Great job. 4 inches of snow yesterday- sunny and upper 50s today. I'm ready to get off the roller coaster.

This is Garden Kitty by Jacob Fowler. Pretty happy with how it turned out. Straight lines always gave me a problem- I did better with this. Not quite perfect but at least now it was do to me not having consistent pressure pushing it thru instead of the blade wobbling. Felt more in control doing tight corners than before.Did break a bridge on one of the fairy wings, now it just looks like a double wing. 1/4 in BB, 2/0 FD blade.

Got my new Delta yesterday, got it all set up and running today. So far I'm liking it a lot. Will take a little to get used to getting the blade in the lower clamp. My Craftsman had a big insert that made seeing it a lot easier. Took a little getting the routine down of refeeding the blade for fretwork but after about a half dozen holes it was getting easy. Out with the old (at least to the garage to use it there) and in with the new.

I have people call me EVERY day asking if their prescription is ready. When I ask them who it's for they say ME......silence. When I ask What's your name? they'll say their first name ,so I have to ask them what is the last name, you know, just in case I have more than 1- Joe or Mary in the computer. In other words, apparently common sense is becoming an endangered species and there is only so much hand holding you can do Kevin.

That is a great job. I might be able to do that in a few years if I practice 24/7 up to then.

Yeah, those fine lines can really bring out the character in a piece and can be as rewarding when they come out right as any tricky angle,etc..

Was going to do Worthington House "First Christmas" intarsia of Santa kneeling to baby Jesus to make sure I had it done by next year. As I cut out the pattern for each type wood, I noticed a lot more tricky cuts and small pieces that I didn't realize looking at the big picture. Considering I hadn't done any cutting since before the holidays and they were actually functional pieces like address sign for my son's house, I figured I better get back to some practice pieces for a while. I couldn't even remember what blades I was comfortable with. I found a packet of patterns that I bought a couple years ago and thought they'd be perfect. I tried the wolf from Jacob Fowler. Not really planning on mounting it or anything but it was good practice. I do have a question for you vets out there as a point of reference. How long would this take you to cut this. I didn't think it was difficult since there aren't many narrow bridges- but there are a lot of sharp curves. It took me about 5&1/2 to 6 hours over 3 sessions to do it. I know a lot of you could probably knock this out pretty quick. I used Baltic birch and FD 2/0 blade. Critique is welcome.

Sorry that happened. That had to be frustrating. Doing my Intarsia Eagle, one of the claws just didn't fit right no matter how I sanded it. Decided to recut it--still not right, did another one--it was perfect. Had to sand it down to height on my belt sander. Thought I'd be smart and get a tight hold on it with a pair of pliers--nope, shot that thing across the basement, bouncing off walls, couldn't find it. Did one more, wasn't perfect but worked.

I love that idea. Amazing how one little post results in so many great patterns so quickly.

This idea had me thinking. The family is having a baby shower for my daughter-in-law in April and I was trying to think of a good napkin holder for it but haven't thought of anything that might work. She's having a girl. A crib with a napkin skirt around the bottom? A baby with the napkins as a receiving blanket? Don't think they would look right. Their naming the baby Ava. How about a centerpiece with her name with the napkins flowing from it? Any other ideas or pattern help for these?

I feel guilty when I see everyone's temperature issues. Got plenty of space in my basement for scrolling, although I've got 25 years of junk to move around before I can really set it up the way I want. My garage has the same size oil burner as the house does to do larger projects. Problem there is I haven't really done anything out there for a few years so now waiting for my son to service it before I risk turning it on again but he just bought a house with a baby on the way so he's a little busy right now. Keep warm friends. Wind chills only going down to about -10 around Philly. Down right balmy around here compared to some of you.

Definitely something you should be proud of from the beginning concept to the finished project. That is a fantastic job!!!
