    Welcome agin

A beautiful piece!!! Def a light color to make the stain pop. Not a white but maybe a creme or a colonial style color like a mustard or linen white. Can't wait to see it completed!
  9. Agree with the rest.....as long as the repair is not noticeable. If the proper glue is used it will prob never come apart!!
  10. Glad to hear things are looking up! Stay well and take care!!!
  11. Beautiful piece!! Almost too nice to put a computer and accessories on!!! I see the pocket holes on the support and back legs....did yo use a Kreg jig?
  12. That's why retirement is so nice!!! Even then there's still not enough hours in the day to accomplish everything you want!!
  13. This was the piece made from a paper cutting pattern. Pattern courtesy Pam Holtz, a noted folk artist from the Pennsylvania area. Painting performed by my wife who is an accomplished folk artist. It is mounted on a piece of tin that has been antiqued with Pewter Black, and framed in a stained wood frame. Not sure if this is how it's going to end up! Lew
  14. Almost finished....Painted and mounted on a piece of tin that has been antiqued. The artwork courtesy of my wife who is an accomplished tole painter. The pattern courtesy of Pam Holtz, a folk artist from Pa. Not quite sure if this is the finished product.......
  15. Great pieces! I can see them selling quickly!!! Checked out your web page....looks real nice...clean and professional! Also the Facebook page is very nice!!
  16. My shop is in the basement....not too bad a spot, Plenty of room and decent temp all year. I also have a tin shop on the opposite side of the wood working area. Not sure about using a storage unit as a retail shop....may be zoning or storage rules against that..... If you want to sell some of your work, local craft shows and markets may be the way to go.....not too much of a monetary investment. We have our home on the market and a place to work is def a consideration looking for a new place! lew
  17. The small piece that i attached took the stain much darker....I think the proper grain was on the side......
  18. Wow!! Congrats on the success! Not surprised....your work is excellent and professional!!!
  19. Oops!!! Didn't catch that!! I'll just make sure that I don't paint those leaves bright green!!
  20. This is from a pattern used for Schensenity, which is a German folk art. The black parts are cut out with special scissors and laid on a black background. Then the image is painted using folk art techniques. I'm going to place it on a black background and my wife will do the painting. Then I think I'll frame it. The technique is similar to scroll sawing, so I figured I would try it. My cutting is on the left and the pattern on the right. Lew
  21. I did this a few weeks ago and made some nasty mistakes. Had to glue a small bridge, but I must have laid the grain wrong because it showed up horribly when stained.....may just paint it instead.... But I like to keep my early works for comparison! Lew
  22. I really like it!! Great work and cool pattern!! Especially since we got more snow today...wish I was sitting on the beach!!
  23. Looking real good!! Great pattern!!!
  24. Good info!....but more importantly you got your wife to buy lunch?!...I always seem to pay! Hopefully you got the Lobster and crab!!!
