  1. Very nice! And Great Danes are the best! I currently share my life with three of them.
  2. That....actually makes sense, from a certain point of view. One question though.....groot? Or groot? That can be taken several ways.
  3. I just spent 5 minutes staring at that alligator, trying to pick a hippo and/or duck out of the pattern. Nicely cut!
  4. I have an older saw, so I was using the 3" pin-ended Pegas skip-tooth blades. Not sure what # they correspond to in the larger, non-pinned blades, but they're fairly large. As for the wood....I just used a 2"x2" I picked up at Lowes. It wasn't the best wood, I don't think, it had some knots and splits in it, I had to trim several small pieces off to get to solid wood. Pine would be my guess.
  5. They're useful for stabbing bills.
  6. That's definitely Hannibal Lechter! That movie freaked me out, without all the cheesy fakeblood and jumpscares of traditional "horror" movies, probably because it was so BELIEVABLE. Excellent cut!
  7. Nice! And I second the request for pics after you toast it!
  8. This is AWESOME!!!
  9. Excellently done!!! Steve Good has a TON of awesome projects that'll help stretch your skills. Although in the future, based on this...I don't think you are qualified to title your posts "getting my feet wet". You've dove in head first and are swimming along just fine!!!
  10. Very much so! I'm an introvert, so getting "grounded" or "sent to my room" as a kid/teen was pretty much the opposite of the punishment that my parents thought it was. Thank you sir!
  11. Well, the wife was out of town visiting a friend, and took the offspring with her to visit Grandma...so someone had to valiantly stay behind and make sure the dogs didn't get up to any shenanigans. And keep the saw from getting lonely. Finished up a Steve Good pattern (at least, I think its one of his) for my wife, not sure where we're going to stash it Tried an idea I had for some scrap 2x4's I picked up at Lowes (yay free scrap wood!!!). Trimmed off the rounded edge of one side, to give myself a smooth, flat face to work with, then set my table saw fence for 1.5" and was rewarded with two 1.5"x1.5" lengths. Perfect for compound cuts...such as the 3D chess set pattern I just bought from Sue Mey's site. Just wish she'd included a separate page of nothing but pawn patterns. Finally, a nifty little cutting (if I do say so myself) of a pattern I did the other day, because truly, Mondays suck. My wife may have squee'd a bit, she likes the little grumpy guy. We're off to grab dinner, I'll finish cleaning up the feathers and staining it later tonight, maybe tomorrow morning before yet another long drive to visit family 4 hours away so that nobody's feelings get hurt....yay. Seasons greetings and all that humbug.
  12. I grab the 1x2 poplar and usually go through about 4 times what is necessary to make one small frame. I also have been leaving off the dots over the "i", I salute your superior cutting skillz!
  13. Never denied it. Gotta uphold that time-honored (and quite tarnished) submariner reputation!
  14. Nice! Love the wood (cedar pollen is high today, so I would love nothing more than to cut something out of EVERY CEDAR TREE EVER!!! ). I found that when putting it on the backer, I made the frame, put the backer on the frame, then wrapped two rubber bands around the frame where the bottom of the letters would go, and used those to line everything up. I also cut the frame short enough that the music notes butted up against the frame. For me, made the spacing and layout much easier.
  15. Very nice!!! And if you're cutting it for a chef, just change the last "o" to an "a"......
  16. Very nice!
  17. Thanks y'all!
  18. Nicely done!
  19. That...is definitely blinged. LOL Nice jewelery box, though!
  20. ROFL!!! That is awesome!!!
  21. Both of those ornaments are awesome! Love the tight cutting, very smooth!
  22. Exactly.
  23. The bagpipes were invented specifically to play this song (took the pipers a while to figure this out), I firmly believe. One of my favorite "classic" hymns. Excellently done!
  24. Happy lookin' dog, and awesome cut!!
  25. Very nice!
