  3. I just hope that this cold winter doesn't translate into a stinking hot summer.
  4. Finished 3 tissue boxes on Saturday, Sold the Elephant one at Sunday's markets. The dragon design I have cut before, The butterfly and Elephants are new designs and 1st time cuts. Pine with Jarrah Trim. I use felt to back the cuttings.
  5. You definitely have been busy. Quite an eclectic group.
  6. A truly nice pattern. Especially so for a 1st time.
  7. I don't know if I have my 1st piece, I doubt it. My 1st cuttings I did many years ago when the kids were just nippers. I wanted to make them some wooden jigsaw puzzles. I cut a couple using a coping saw and a fret saw, but thought there had to be an easier way. We had an old Russian sewing machine built like a battle ship. I converted it into a scroll saw (Before I new such beasts actually existed) and cut my kids and their cousins quite a few puzzles.
  8. Thanks Dave. The bright red is felt. I glue the felt to ply before installing. One for the bottom and another inside the lid. The underneath of my inlay should never be seen .the darker colour in the small compartments is flocking.
  9. Thanks Scrappile, I do sweat a little with the fine pieces. I bevel cut the pieces so they fit like a plug. Have to keep my wits about me as to which direction they have to be cut in.

Love that Peter. Although I have admired many timber models I have never tried one. I have made heaps of toy vehicles, quite a bit simpler.

  21. A man after my own heart, Love the old west and cowboy art.
  22. I used to be quite active in a number of scroll saw forums, but due to a few different things gave it all away about 6 years ago. Finally got back down the shed, serviced the saws and am having a great time breathing saw dust. Cheers
