    Exactly Kevin. I had a type 2 for 3 years as my main saw. I sold it to a friend almost 2 years ago and it's still purring like a kitten. It has never been rebuilt. I put pegas lever chucks on it and the front to back blade movement is about a 32 of an inch. I would rather have a decent type 2 over a type 1 due to the age factor.

    I like my king excelsior but I'd rather have a table like the seyco. I like the adjustment for front to back blade movement on the hawk g4 cause moving the motor is a pain

    I'm gifting this to Jim for his veterans fund raising. He has done so much for me I wanted to give back. Hes a great man and mentor.

    I think the only different part is the bearing at the motor

    Put them on my DeWalt when they first came out and still working like new. I put them on my Excelsior a year and a half ago and haven't had to sand the tips at all. I didn't like the original on my ex as you can't see the top of the blade when installing. Best upgrade I've done

    Saw was made in 1983. I worked on one for a friend. Arm raises about 2" has 3 speeds using a v belt. I would not pay more than 50$ for this saw.

    Only for the bottom so you can top feed

    I used the porter cable for 3 years. Gave to a friend that's still using it
