  1. Thanks all. I appreciate the leads. The spring for the tree does seem to be a hard item to find. There are some links but they seem to be dead ends. https://www.etsy.com/listing/260008367/glitter-spring-coil-base-christmas-tree I'll also probably end up making something.
  2. Hmm, answering my own post - using the Microsoft CoPilot site might lead to some interesting designs if I figure out the right wording to ask it.
  3. My store-bought Christmas tree topper light-up angel burned out last year. I'd like to make a 3D star or angel that I could use, maybe multiple layers with LEDs. I did a SSV search but didn't turn up much. Has any seen any nice looking scrollsawn ones? Thanks in advance!
  4. Alex, your creativity in patterns never ceases to amaze me. Well done!
  5. A friend is a huge Chicago Sky fan (Women's NBA). His birthday was last week so I made him a wall hanging. It's hard to see but there are LED lights behind it. It's three layers of primed MDF with a couple of coats of spray paint.
  6. Not really sure. I just call it a layered sports logo. Have made quite a few.
  7. Bigprint is another option to printing large items on smaller paper -- https://woodgears.ca/bigprint/
  8. I finished this one just in time. Found the pattern on Etsy and changed the name to YTB = "You're The Best"! Bob
  9. Paul - I did a few modifications to your pattern to remove the body and zoom in on the face. I was able to get it done in time for Christmas. I really appreciate the pattern! Bob
  10. Thanks Paul!!!! I'll give it a shot and post a photo when I get it done. Bob
  11. Hi All - this little guy was 12 years old and had to be put down last month. I'd love to give his owner a framed scroll saw version of the photo for Christmas but my pattern-making skills just aren't at this level yet. If anyone has time and can convert this to a pattern I'd greatly appreciate it. The image is only 600K but I've not been successful in tracking down the original. Thanks! Bob
  12. Thanks Paul and Travis. I went with Travis' pattern and while it took me a while to get to I think it came out OK. Thanks so much for the patterns! Bob
  13. I found out I'm allergic to cedar. Had the mask and glasses but no gloves. The skin peeled off the palms of my hands. That same website has a toxicity list for most woods: https://www.wood-database.com/wood-articles/wood-allergies-and-toxicity/
  14. I did this Portuguese water dog a couple of years back as a Christmas gift. I have another Travis pattern that I want to get to as well.
  15. I haven't forgotten about this one. I still have a bat house, colorado flag, and Chicago Cubs logo to make before I can get back to scrolling!
