  1. Wow; I just read through this entire thread and the projects are fabulous. I wish I had your skill
  2. Can't wait to see the finished product
  3. Definitely does not look like newbie work; fantastic
  4. Very impressive
  5. Found this pattern on Steve Good's site and wanted to make it for my niece's grandson who is just about 18 months old or so. Used some extra red oak plywood for the puzzle itself and then routed/carved out the backer from the inside of a board I was already using for routing practice. I placed the first finger hole too low to properly push the middle piece out so threw a second one a little higher. My 21 year old daughter painted the pieces for me and then I sprayed some lacquer over everything yesterday. It's funny how the finishing part of the project can take longer than the actual work sometimes Adler Puzzle by Scott Baker, on Flickr Puzzle Back by Scott Baker, on Flickr Adler Puzzle Pieces by Scott Baker, on Flickr
  6. Very nice job and thank you for the tip on using the felt as a backer. I'll have to consider that as a way to use up some extra I have.
  7. CR Lumber here outside of Xenia OH ships all over the place and has some great quality wood/prices. Check out http://crlumber.com - the price list he has there is up to date as well -
  8. I like how he looks just angry enough to get the kill; great job

  10. Howdy from Miamisburg
  11. Thank you for the kind comments. Ask and you shall receive. Here's the front of the clock. I'm posting the three pictures as the columns rotate so there are different items on each side. 12. As I stated in my introduction, I try to incorporate scroll work into my overall projects as much as possible. Here are some of my recent ones: Bookends using Steve Good's patterns Bookends 800ISO by Scott Baker, on Flickr The back side of a clock with the door using pattern I found in a book I bought as well as Navy Senior and Master Chief Petty Officer insignia; my Uncle's last name and the years he and his wife have been together are at the top (1981 to 2019) Uncle Fred Clock Back by Scott Baker, on Flickr
  13. Hello from a fellow woodworker in Ohio. I am Scott and started making sawdust about 35 years ago but took many years off until about 12 years ago when I started up again. I recently began incorporating scroll work in my projects more frequently in the last year especially after I picked up a Dewalt DW788 for half price. In fact, my last project, a set of bookends for the kids, used templates from Steve Good while the two before that were of my own desire to make them as real as possible. I'll post pictures of some of the work in the Bragging forum. I hope to learn from you all as much as I can.
