    handburnt, pyrography is another thing i keep busy with. did this last summer, not got round to finishing yet, to many projects, not enough time, maybe it's time to retire

    not been up to much of late, with various commitments. My lass wanted a side/coffee table, so a rummage in the shed for odds of wood. It's oak with birch legs, and a H BOTAS scroll design burnt on the top, my lass has a thing about giraffes.

    i cut that pattern for my mum, she returned it a months later saying the eyes followed her round the room mine was no where as good as that, awesome job.

    i've been in some dark places, and they're always there lurking in the background ready to pounce and drag you back. scrolling and making stuff, even if it's just sawdust is more than an escape. gives your mind focus. my lass chunters about me giving most of the pieces i make away, thing is, i get a lot of pleasure from creating something and a really big boost from gifting it. so hang in there, take baby steps and keep going forward, you're not on your own.

    voting for painted as well, even if it's the just background or specific bits, lifts the pieces to another dimension. i also apply a thin seal coat before painting and use acrylic paint. I mainly get the acrylics from LIDL ( european discounter store for those over the pond), they're cheap and less translucent than proper artists paints

    had some good feedback at the weekend, once people realised they were'nt laser cut. the lights are led fairy button battery operated on a copper wire fairy lights on amazon and glued into place with a glue gun. the spacing is about 4 mm from back to front with no material in between, however i have got my hands on some perspex i think it is, and will be trying that.

    continued with the light box theme, didn't come out quite like i thought it would. pattern is from here, a H botas. there'll probably be many more light box themed stuff in the pipeline, my local garden centre was selling solar and battery lights by the box load very cheaply, so stocked up.

    a few more, done these the last or so, they are going to a raffle in support of a local autism charity. a steve good pattern another steve good pattern and my first attempt at compound cutting forget where i got this from

    names martin, been following you guys for a while now, and this must be just about the nicest forum i've ever been on. i've been scrolling, and burning and other crafty stuff for about six years now. all began when i got seriously ill and needed stuff to do to stop me going nuts. a few pictures of stuff i've done, recording work is something i'm not good at. most of my work is given away, much to my lasses distress. some of the patterns are from here, some jim blume, some steve good, others i forget, i'm an avid collector of images/patterns that hopefully i'll get around to doing. for my brothers wedding anniversaryon the mother in laws wallfor my lasses uncle, it's burnt on to a cheese boardanother burning of a friends dog
