I don't do production cutting, and never have. The last two large projects I have done are clocks. The 8.5 X 11 sticky back sheets would be useless to me. Most of the projects I do are larger. Some of the pieces are 13" wide and 17" long. And I only do one project at a time. I actually find it easier to use my Duck, sticky back shelf liner and attache the pattern to it with 45. Just my opinion.

I know this isn't going to help you Scrappile. But I did want to post this for scrollers in Michigan and any others who have access to a Meijers in their area. 3M™ General Purpose Spray Adhesive, 10.25 ounce Net Weight $6.69 Supposedly in stock. https://www.meijer.com/shopping/product/3m-general-purpose-spray-adhesive--10-25-ounce-net-weight/2120096262.html?cmpid=SEM_LIA_Min_Bid:General:all\hardware:GOOGLE&gclid=CjwKCAjwndCKBhAkEiwAgSDKQXoLDkBzOZN6gS_BUfCkqYhl7tpZ6OVd6KyNEO8qs25KMhc1BWoGcRoCIrIQAvD_BwE It also appears that ACE Hardware has it also for $8.59 I stocked up bout 6 months ago with 6 cans. I don't scroll as much as some of you. In fact I'm slowing down because of health reasons. I still have about 4 1/2 cans left

I'm in shock and very sad. It seems like one day you are here and cheerful and the next thing you know, they are gone. I will miss Les (Rockytime). He was always willing to help. RIP my Village friend

You got it right Les

I agree 100% RJ

"Anyway, what it comes down to is that Cherry Tree has more business than they can handle and don't really care if they piss off a few folks in the process of doing business." That's the real issue. Tammy even said so. I really got that impression from her comments. Plus they lie.
-
What do you mean I didn't give the whole story? I said they were stuffed in a small box and wrinkled. I didn't actually measure the box at that time of posting. But cramming 17" wide pattern in a 9" box apparently is acceptable. Tammy said they were put in a small box and folded 4 times. What did I leave out? I never said anything about an envelope. Did you actually read my initial posting? The clock insert had nothing to do with stuffing this pattern in a small box. They could have easily put it in a larger box and maybe charged me for it. I would have paid if I knew what the outcome would be. Instead they chose the cheapest way.

I agree with you Kevin and I do see both sides. But when I read this, it really changed my mind about this company. "We have never and will never roll our plans and patterns and ship in a tube. Tubes get damaged way too easily in shipping and with 1st class mail the postal service does not cover any of that." That simply is not true. I have ordered plans from JGR (intarsia.com) for about 20 years. Judy packages all her plans in heavy duty tubes and not once in all those years have I ever received a damaged tube. And there are never any heavy creases in her plans. They are a joy to work with. I wish all pattern makers would do that. Downloads are quite different. Unfortunately with downloads you need a large format printer for some patterns, or you have to take them somewhere to have them enlarged. "It's always something". Roseanne Roseannadanna Ben

Looks like I'm stuck with these. I'll see if I can use an iron and flatten them somewhat. I have never had any problems with any other pattern suppliers. JGR puts her patterns in heavy duty tubes. The Art Factory breaks up the pattern into manageable pieces with sometimes 6/7 pages instead of folding them 4 times with multiple large creases. Others package their patterns in a envelope with heavy duty cardboard or in large box. Lesson learned

I just received this from Cherry tree Cherry Tree Toys Service Dept <[email protected]> 10:53 AM (49 minutes ago) to me Good morning Benny, We have received your email. I am sorry for the delay in a response but we receive hundreds of emails on a daily basics from customers, vendors, carving and scroll saw groups, etc. so sometimes it takes a bit to scan through all the emails. I checked with the shipping department and with the owner. Our plans have always been folded and will always be folded. We fold 11x17 in half and all D patterns are folded to 8 1/2 x 11.Your order would have went into a 9x6 box because you choose 1st class mail. So yes 1 of your plans may of been folded 4 times. We have never and will never roll our plans and patterns and ship in a tube. Tubes get damaged way too easily in shipping and with 1st class mail the postal service does not cover any of that. If you choose Priority mail the box is at least a little bigger and if damage does occur the postal service will cover up to $50.00. You have ordered numerous patterns from us and not once have we ever received a claimant from you. All complaints are documented and logged. Tammy That's not true Tammy. I gave you a negative review on one of your clock patterns earlier this year but you never posted it. Ben

It's Wednesday, and still no reply from Cherry Tree. Proves what I said earlier. Lousy customer service.
-
Erv I agree with you. But unfortunately, I am hard of hearing on the phone. Not sure why that is. However, I'll wait another day or 2 then try and give them a call. Cherry Tree encourages you to contact them using their contact page if you have any problems. I did, and no response. I just think they have lousy customer service. This is not my first go around with these folks. I'm done with them after this fiasco. There are many other places to get patterns besides Cherry Tree and with good customer service and they actually reply. The Art Factory and Wooden Teddy Bear are just 2 that have good customer service. I'm sure there are others. Cherry tree does not accept returns of patterns or plans. Ben

Really sorry to hear that. My daughter and husband just got over Covid. She took the Vaccine, he did not. I'm with you. No shot for me or my wife. So far so good. Speedy recovery Les. Ben

Well, It's Monday and haven't heard from Cherry Tree today. I'm disappointed.
-
Thank you Hopefully I hear from them on Monday.
-
I tried to contact them on Friday to let them know how disappointed I was with their packaging. I may hear from them on Monday. I'll let you and others know what they said. You have to go to this page and use their mode of communication. They do not have a actual email address that i could find. https://cherrytreetoys.com/contact-us/

I just sent them an email to let them know what I thought of their packaging. I waited until today so I would cool off a bit. I don't like to send emails when I'm upset. Not all of the plans I bought have problems. The smaller one's are OK. It's just the large Wildwood plans that is the issue. Some were folded 4 times then jammed in a very small box causing a lot of creases and wrinkles. That is just not acceptable and I told them that. The patterns I bought from Cherry Tree are Wildwood designs. Cherry tree and Wildwood merged many years ago and the only place to get the Wildwood designs is Cherry Tree. It's either send them back or attempt to iron them flat as Roberta suggested above. (Thanks Roberta) After reading that, my wife said she remembers doing that in Home Ec. too.

That's nice, but they don't have the patterns I want.
-
I just got a delivery from Cherry Tree with a few patterns I ordered. These are very large patterns. They were folded in half, then folded again and jammed in a little box about 8" X 5" . These patterns are all wrinkled up some quite badly. Is there a way to straighten these up and get rid of the wrinkles? I will be sending an email to Cherry Tree letting them know what I think about their packaging. Ben

Hi Les I believe it is this clock on Scrollsaw.com. They have some really nice clock patterns at very reasonable prices. Click this link below, and it is the 4th picture down. https://www.scrollsaw.com/collections/clocks-for-the-scroll-saw-sure-to-become-a-family-heirloom/fretwork Ben

I spray most all of my projects with Deft spray lacquer and never have a clog. But I don't live in a humid climate and I spray inside with a temp of 72 degrees year round. Deft might be worth a try. -
It's not the point of liking, it's the need. I now have 3 saws. A 29 year old RBI Hawk, a 9 year old Excalibur,, and a 1 month old 14" Jet. All work perfectly and I use all 3. I like a lot of things. I just don't need them. or can afford them. One final comment. I have never operated a Hegner, so I have no idea if I would like one.

I'm 81 and i like your reply. LOL

It's probably just me. I'm too picky.

I use 3/4" most of the time for desk clocks, some toys, and now a few puzzles. Makes sense to cut the profile with a straight blade and the veining with a spiral. I don't do portraits. I'll give the FD-NS #2/0 a try and see what happens. I really don't expect much though. LOL.
