  1. Nice job cutting! I love the colors! I definitely need to start using more color in my projects. And, I should try 1/8" instead of always using 1/4". I really like that look. Thanks for sharing!

  8. I have no idea why it is called that. Lowes calls it: 1-1/4-in x 8-ft White Hard Unfinished Chair Rail Moulding. There are at least 3 different widths.

Beautiful work! I really like the live edge lift handle. I have never seen that done before.
  10. This is my take on the nativity scene that several of you have also done. It measures 17x22" in 1/4" baltic birch. The backer is also 1/4" that is painted black with acrylic paint. The frame is chair molding from Lowes that is glued and pin nailed from the back onto the baltic birch. The frame is stained dark walnut. Everything is sprayed with shellac and then top coated with satin lacquer. The pattern is a Sullyscroller pattern. Everything was cut with spiral blades. The tiny details like the eyes were with a 2/0 blade. The largest blade I used was a #3.
  11. You do fantastic work! Both the cutting and painting exhibits an extremely high level of craftsmanship. What are you using for paint? I don't see any shine so it must be some sort of matte paint. I have read that you spray the paint. Are you using a can like Krylon, or are you using some other type of paint. Maybe an air brush? Please forgive me if you have answered this before. If you have, please point me to that post and I will study what you said there. I would love to see an instruction video on one of your pieces. I cannot see your start holes either. Would love to see a video. Thank you!
  12. Absolutely amazing! Great jog cutting. What is "¼” luan backer"?
  13. Thank you for the information. I am looking forward to seeing it finished!
  14. Looks great! Can you please tell us what kind of wood and the thickness you are using? Very impressive work you are doing!
  15. Absolutely beautiful! The details are amazing!
  16. This would be perfect to hang in the bathroom on the wall opposite the mirror. That way you can quickly check the time while shaving. I like it!

  19. She lives in an apartment arrangement that has several people in it. All of them share a kitchen and living area. She plans to hang it out in the living area. Thank you for the kind words!
  20. Here is a Tiger I just finished. My daughter goes to the University of Memphis. Their mascot is a tiger and the school colors are blue and gray. That is why I painted the backer blue with a gray border. These colors appear to match the University colors pretty close. I used 1/4" maple plywood and cut most of it with a spiral blade. For the straight sections I switched blades to a straight one so I could cut a straighter line. Believe it or not, I did not break any of the whiskers when cutting. I saved them for almost last and had dreaded cutting them the whole time I was working in it. I made sure I had a fresh blade to reduce pressure in an attempt to not break the thin wood, and I got really, really lucky. The frame is maple that is stained Red Oak and sprayed with lacquer. The overall size with the frame is 17x20". The pattern is from Alex Fox and it said there are 447 holes. I'm not sure there are that many holes but I have not counted.
  21. Nice job! Where did you get the pattern?
  22. How/where can I join the scrollers work shop? Google is not helping me out. Thank you!
