  1. If the wall is flat as in not textured, and the backs of the portraits are flat, one of the varieties of nano tape might work. There are many brands out there and I have never tried any of them. https://www.casetrick.com/products/nano-tape
  2. Really nice looking work. Thanks for sharing. The Old Ranger would be proud.
  3. I have always found the Dremel to be indispensable around the house for many tasks. I have had the same Moto tool for close to 40 years and just replaced the drive coupling. Amazon has a sale that ends tonight. Pretty good pricing and I thought some of you might find it useful. https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/C63941E6-2662-4B36-9F57-B76D7AD43972?channel=FeaturedDeals&sap-outbound-id=21E57286019E1B2801683567BF5C597A01645A29
  4. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
  5. Have you folks tried ordering blades from Leslies? http://flyingdutchmanscrollsawblades.com
  6. Congrats on the old/new saw!
  7. Welcome from SE Arizona. It is a fine thing you are doing for our youth.
  8. So true but happy to report the better has far outweighed the worse. I cannot imagine life without her.
  9. I'm still trying, after 47 years, to figure out how those marriage vows worked their way into smoking (BBQ), woodworking, and my 1 PBR per night when I return home after work. It is a poser for sure.
  10. When I got my saw after enjoying the little Craftsman scroll saw, there were really only two machines to consider - Excalibur and Hegner (as well as a few Hegner look alike). I went back and forth, nearly memorized a Spielman book on the saws and decided on the EX I currently have. I reckon I would have been equally happy with the Hegner. I agree that sometimes something bad will, in the long run bring about good.Today there are a lot of choices for machines of high quality. One just has to research, join a forum such as this one, and pick peoples brains. Hopefully before and not after the purchase.
  11. I hope it is acceptable to post a link regarding Excalibur. It may help others in making a buying decision. And it is sad that the newer EX saws seems to be in name only and not in quality unless it is hit or miss.
  12. Congrats on the new saw. Any ideas on the maiden project?
  13. Expensive and typically 1/8 to 1/4 inch, craft wood (Baltic Birch?) at Michaels and at Hobby Lobby. I have also found some at the hardware store. But a lumber company has always been best. In Arizona I will get wood at Woodworkers Source in Tucson. Sometimes I get usable scrap at a reduced price.
  14. I've not done business with this company but they carry several manufacturers blades: https://cherrytreetoys.com/scroll-saw-blades/
  15. A silent moment in prayer for his family.
  16. A little something I made out of 1/8 in Luan. Wife liked it so I kept it rather than giving it away. Finally figured out how to drag a photo:
  17. Thanks. I appreciate the compliment.
  18. I used the same procedure that had worked elsewhere and tried to upload the file. Out of frustration I moved the file to photos, thendragged the photo (not the file) from iPhoto. It worked. Guess I am just slowing down.
  19. Here is the little project I did so many years ago when I first got the Excalibur. I have improved considerably over the years. It was cut from 1/8 inch Luan.
  20. I sent a message earlier and waiting for a reply. Veterans Day so he may be busy with family. Thanks again.
  21. I click on choose files, and then I select the file/photo. It works well on the bbq forums I belong to. I will keep trying. Maybe it is an intermittent error. Thanks.
  22. When I joined I said would look for an item or two that I made since I generally gave away all my little projects and post a photo. I found one and ran into a server error trying to post. I would appreciate any advice you folks can give. Thanks.
  23. Here is a little something I did when I first got the Excalibur. 1/8 in Luan. Well, I tried to post a photo but I got a server error. Any help in posting a photo would be appreciated.
  24. Welcome Louie from Arizona.
