  1. It's no where near perfect. I tell people that my woodwork is like my ex-wife. It looks better in photos......................
  2. I use a cheap hair dryer and pour 1/2 inch. Haven't tried any deeper than that. I have used a torch in the past and got the resin too hot and it dried and split in places. It's important to have a dryer on your air compressor so no moisture gets into your cuttings.
  3. I live in Fort Smith Arkansas. Here's a tutorial I recently posted.
  4. Thank you!
  5. Just planed down the newest Tree of Life. This one is a custom order and made from cherry with a dark green and gold color fill. I'll start the sanding and finishing later this week.
  6. A couple of photos inside my cluttered shop
  7. Your fretwork and your plates look awesome! Hope having both in the same photo won't get you in trouble with the photo police...............
  8. Thank you Marg!
  9. Back when I was doing a lot more scrolling than I am now, some of my designs were featured in a few magazines now and then. Some of the readers saw a couple of old license plates on my wall in the photos that were in the articles that I wrote and started sending me old plates that they had. Now I have plates from every state and several other countries displayed in my shop. My oldest is a 1910 from Pennsylvania. When I have vistors stop by they always enjoy seeing them.
  10. It's hard to notice anything but her intarsia. You should see it in person. She's the one that taught me how to do it.
  11. I double posted the link by mistake.

  13. Well Frank, it was just a quick photo to be shared with my fellow scrollers. It's not one that I plan on displaying. Like you, I make no apologies. If you don't like it, don't look at it.
  14. My new color fill wolf. I made this one from some walnut that me and my best friend milled in 1998. The design for the wolf came from one of Judy Gale Roberts Fine Line Design fretwork books.
  15. That's awesome! You do good work and yours is more detailed than mine. As you can see, I used a lot of those curves and loops and smoothed it all out so I could do a color fill.
  16. I think I like the plain wood the best, but when I do a color fill. I'm like a kid waiting on Christmas. It's hard for me to wait to find out how whatever new combination of colors and metallic powders that I used comes out. The colors in this one reminds me of Vincent Van Gogh's, The Starry Night because of its mix of highlights along with the blues and greens. This one surprised me.
  17. Thanks! Where did you get the pattern?
  18. Another color filled eagle. Made from cherry. https://www.facebook.com/tjswoodshop
