Kindling? Nah, winter is about over. I like the ideas above.

I use a combination of wood glue and super glue, all Gorilla glues but I've used others also. I apply the wood glue on the wider portions and then apply the super glue on the thinner parts. I try to get some type glue on most of everything. The wood glue that oozes out, I remove after it has gelled or hardened some with a knife or toothpick. The super glue dries clear and any excess will be covered by the finish I use.

Exercise lowers blood pressure, regretfully, scrolling doesn't meet the standard for exercise. Calcium lowers blood pressure and men need calcium also. If you don't supply enough the body takes it from the bones. Laughter lowers blood pressure... watch Johnny Carson more often

Best I can suggest is do a search for 'lacquer finish checks' and see what comes up. Maybe one coat dries too fast. Lacquer is more brittle than most other finishes. -
