  1. Carl, I'm gla dI posted this. What you wrote is educational and I will remember most of that on my next (successful) stack of 3/4 wood. I would think the softer wood on the bottom. I look at this as a gain of experience. No loss on the wood of the two blades I broke. That is something else I will change is blades more often. I'll copy and keep what you wrote as a reference. tks
  2. Kevin, Next time, I will be successful. Right blade, table aligned, check the cut often = success Yes it is a challenge. Larry
  3. I attempted to stack cut two 3/4 inch hard woods, Maple and Birch. I cut the inside first and that went well and I felt good. The outside is one big long cut. First mistake was not checking alignment. Second one was not periodically removing the blade and checking the bottom of the cut. So to show everyone, old and newbeeeees Grit my teeth and turn red, here it is The UGLY Cut The first picture is the top wood and what had the pattern attached. The second picture is the reverse side of the top wood. Imagine what the second stack looked like...NO DON'T
  4. Simply well done! Larry
  5. Beautiful old barn. Very good on the framing. Did you do any staining on the barn wood when you cut it? Larry
  6. What happens when I lose it in the sawdust?
  7. Kevin, what is your alternative. You may have to have a plan 'B' One 1 inch star, a pair of scissors and a copier? Best idea I have.

  9. Spirithorse, interesting information and thanks for the link. Larry
  10. Oh man, that rates a meringue pie, a cane to pull you off stage with a boo and a hiss...boo hiss. But don't quit... even the best drop a rock every now and then. Rob Roy
  11. As rjR stated, this has been posted a few times before. I think there is an adjustment. Larry
  12. Considering all from my point of view, $500 is a little high but not a rip off.

  19. Dick, Like Roly, never heard of them. You've researched and it sounds good. I would take a couple blades and a piece of wood and do a little cutting. See how easy to install/change blades...etc. Larry
  20. Bill, That's ok. We've all been there. Like its been said, 'We like pictures'. Pictures of your saw, your shop and Chattanooga Choo Choo. Larry
  21. I can't say it better than Kevin. I can add that any John Lennon fan would enjoy that portrait. Larry

  24. Love the heart, Great cutting and beautiful small basket(?),,,, I would call it a unique dish. Larry
  25. Bill, There is a lot to learn! Period! Every and I mean every blade has its own quirks. One blade on different wood, different thickness will cut differently. Blade selection is important. There is a post in General Scrollsawing on blades for a new scroller. You can do a search and searches can answer many questions. I have scrolled for years and I am still learning. Ha... truth be known, I'm still forgetting also. Welcome here Bill Larry
