MrsN Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 (edited) I have a craft fair on Saturday. I am fairly well stocked with a variety of things to sell, but have a question to throw out to all of you. I have a lot going on this week but one evening that I could devote to making new things. Do you have any recommendations of quick/easy/sellable things that would be a productive use of that time? I am thinking that I will probably make some Christmas ornaments but I would love to hear your thoughts. Edited December 3, 2014 by MrsN amazingkevin 1 Quote
dansnow Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 I've had good luck with 5-6" long cars cut out of 3/4" pine. I use 1/4" dowel for axles and 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" wheels. Leaving the bodies bare I stick the body 4 wheels and 2 axles cut to length in a clear bag with a picture, and sell them as kits for $5 Ornaments just don't seem to sell very well in these parts. amazingkevin 1 Quote

dgman Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Hey Katie, how about gift tags? If you stack cut four or five layers of 1/8" Baltic birch, you can cut out a hundred or so in an afternoon. You can charge $1 each. Steve good has some patterns in his catalog. Let us know what you decide and good luck on your show! amazingkevin and wombatie 2 Quote

NC Scroller Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Gift card holders where a great seller for me this year. I sold bunches at $5.00 each. I used the basic Steve Good design (pattern link below) and made them all from 1/8" BB. I cut the fronts 6 high and instead of a design I put a single initial (used a basic stencil font). The backs were a solid piece of 1/8" BB. Also simple animal puzzles sell well http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2011/08/wooden-business-card-holder.html amazingkevin 1 Quote
Jim Finn Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 I also have a show this weekend and I am making these small cross/fish items. Quick to make and I just dip them in poly finish and allow them to drip dry. Another, quick to make and quick to sell, item is a rubber band shooter. I often sell enough of them to pay my space rent. amazingkevin 1 Quote
