amazingkevin Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) Buddy buddy,You made me do this ! Looks like you got the last laugh ! I like to eat but this is way more than i can chew!.I had no idea that there was going to be this much work, and in hard wood.Sheila landry's reindeer 1&2 plus the sleigh's ,yes that's right two, t.w.o. ! lol, I have to make one for my wood supplier but with only one reindeer .The other sleigh and 9 reindeer are for the landlady, maybe, lol.I'm not even close to finish cutting it all .Been 8 hours so far.I had to rip down 3/4" oak to 1/4" and it flew back and got me on the wrist once and on the end of my thumb the second time..And then rip 3/4" or 1" walnut to 1/4"for the antlers and sleigh carriage. The deer are 3/4" oak and the sleigh is 1/4" oak.Quite an ordeal i got into here .There's no room to do any of this outside but if there's a will there's a way .I've never seen so much dust under my table saw before. i have pint stain cans under it and they are buried.so far the thick reindeer were cut with a scroll reverse #12 and the rest with a #7 scrollreverseThe antlers i'll try #3 scrollreverse tomorrow.I'll spray with a "spray it" refillable hand held sprayer with shellac, clear when it's all together and mounted on a board.Beautifull patterns from Sheila. Each part is labled on each piece so there's no gussing which deer gets which leg and where!Going to be a few more days it looks like from here! Thanks for looking!!!!
