ChelCass Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 Try going to Pinterest and type in the search Metal Gears. There are some nice ideas there you may be able to use. Let us know what you decide on. Quote
Scrolling Steve Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 I want to see those tables when you finish! Quote
Scrappile Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 The ones like in the second picture, flower vase or planter. I have very little imagination. Quote
LarryEA Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 You all have more ideas than me. About all I'd do is take them to Weitsman's and get scrap metal $$$. Well, maybe not now.....I'll wait on more ideas. Quote
jamminjack Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 One hell of a mouse trap comes to mind Quote

Kepy Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 The taller ones look like legs and with the flat ones welded together with the top flat and topped with glass would make a great coffee table. Quote

grosa Posted April 23, 2015 Author Report Posted April 23, 2015 I added more pictures to the blog and some how to's as well. The legs are all dry fitted and the the template for the tripod base is done. Next I will make the 2 1/2" thick sapele tripod base. Are you guys interested in how I make it or should I just post pictures when it is completed? Quote
Kragax Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 When I think of a table with them I would build a table with the top surrounded with a good size lip. Then position the gears in a pleasing manner and then fill with a clear poly resin. Those gears remind me of a timing gear Of Cummins diesel that I made my living from for 35 years. Quote
grosa Posted April 25, 2015 Author Report Posted April 25, 2015 I am actually making two tables, one big 6' round conference table with the big vase looking gears and a small hall table with the flat gears. Quote
