Clayton717 Posted April 29, 2015 Report Posted April 29, 2015 this is my latest intarsia project I'm working on. The pattern is by Judy Roberts and is call the Beginning of the trail. She has two of them it is the smaller sized one. When finished I'm entering it into our county fair. I didn't start taking pictures from the beginning though. At this point I have about 25 hours in it. There are 12 different woods and 157 pieces. The finished size is 28" x 35". I will continue to post updates if anyone is interested. The end of the trail is my favorite native American thing and this was the closest I could find in an intarsia pattern. I can't remember all the woods off the top of my head but the horse is aspen and walnut, indian skin is alder, the shield is maple, with paduak, wenge, and yellowheart. the feathers are walnut and aspen. the rope and lance are white oak.
