don in brooklin on Posted November 17, 2015 Report Posted November 17, 2015 Nice Pattern and nice cutting. Like the green background. Question: what did you cut this from? Thanks don Quote

Sorcier Posted November 17, 2015 Author Report Posted November 17, 2015 To tell the truth, I am not sure what the wood is. My wife goes by a cabinet maker and scrounges for me. It appears to be a veneer over fiberboard.. I put a piece of green construction paper over the lettering in the back and then glued on a backer board. After all had dried, I cut our the border, so the backer was the same as the piece. Ward amazingkevin 1 Quote
Sorcier Posted January 5, 2016 Author Report Posted January 5, 2016 Update on Kurt's pattern. I misspelled the last name and he was kind enough to jump on it and change it for me. Attached is the finished item with the correct name. It is on poplar stained and then with a shellac cover.. Again, I cannot thank Kurt enough for the help amazingkevin and bobscroll 2 Quote

Sorcier Posted January 6, 2016 Author Report Posted January 6, 2016 Actually, they had a family emergency back east and have been gone. I have not had a chance to give it to them as of yet. Quote
Sorcier Posted January 16, 2016 Author Report Posted January 16, 2016 My friends finally returned and I was able to give them the name plaque. I gave it to them at a motorcycle club event and now everyone is jealous. Ann was in tears, saying she always wanted that type of art, especially as they just bought their new home. Jeff's only complaint is that Ann got top billing, but I just said I Ann was prettier and I was trying to make brownie points. Thanks again to Kurt for making the pattern. As an aside to Kurt, what was the font that you used for Ann & Jeff? Thanks, Ward bobscroll 1 Quote
