LarryEA Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) I really like Gordie's pattern of "FAMILY" . Here is what I did with it. This is without a finish and I showed it to my neighbor. He liked it so much that he bought it unfinished. Here's the same one with three (3) coats of BLO. 18" x 8" x 3/8" thick Cherry with a 1/4" BB backer. I stack cut two. The second one is 18" Oak. You said you stacked cut them, did that make them one inch and what size blade did you use. I used a #2 .026 x .011 and the Oak is 1/4" Oak Ply... The Cherry is 3/8" Cherry board .... soooo... total thickness cut was 5/8" Quote

oldhudson Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 On the cherry version it looks like you routed a cove around the edge, it really helps set off the lettering. Nice work. LarryEA 1 Quote

Yes I did route the edge of the Cherry one but could not do the Oak because it is a 1/4" pressboard sandwiched between thin Oak plywood. Didn't think the Oak would look ok routed.
