I really like Gordie's pattern of     "FAMILY" .

Here is what I did with it.

This is without a finish and I showed it to my neighbor. He liked it so much that 

he bought it unfinished.

              Here's the same one with three (3) coats of BLO.

               18" x 8" x 3/8" thick Cherry with a 1/4" BB backer.

I stack cut two.

The second one is 18" Oak.

I like them all. Great finish on them. You said you stacked cut them, did that make them one inch and what size blade did you use.

I used a #2  .026 x .011 and the Oak is 1/4" Oak Ply...  The Cherry is 3/8" Cherry board  ....

soooo... total thickness cut was 5/8"

On the cherry version it looks like you routed a cove around the edge, it really helps set off the lettering. Nice work.

Yes I did route the edge of the Cherry one but could not do the Oak because it is a 1/4" pressboard

sandwiched between thin Oak plywood. Didn't think the Oak would look ok routed.

I want to be able sometimes. Unfortunately, I do not understand the instructions of Travis.

Because I can not speak English. to your texts to understand so halfway I use the Google translatir.
