Paul hd Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 Hi All. Just for a bit of fun. What is it?😀 I've had to break it down into about 4 parts so I could move it. It weighs a ton😧 A bit of history on how I ended up with it. I was looking for a rolling tool cabinet on e bay a couple of years ago and I came across this bit of kit. I'm not sure why it was in that section and at the time I didn't even know what it was, but I really liked the look of it. It had a few hours to go before the auction finished and had a £60 bid on it. So I put a bid of a £100 and hoped that I would get lucky. Well I ended up as the highest bidder and ended up paying £78. For the last two years It has been stored and cared for in my mates workshop. Now I have finally got it in my shed and can't wait to get it built up and start using it. Lucky2 1 Quote

Lucky2 Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 Could it be a milling machine, or, metal lathe? Len Quote
Rob Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 It looks like a cross slide in one of the pics but given the quality of the engineering I would say it is definitely a BARGAIN at that price. So go on, what is it? Do tell! Quote
LarryEA Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 It is either a planer or a tin can smasher. Quote

Paul hd Posted December 3, 2015 Author Report Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) Hi all. I was hoping to get the thing built today and put some pics up. But just not had time. All great guesses. It is a Taylor Hobson Pantograph. This is a pic from the net. Not the exact same model or colour. You put letters, numbers or pattern on the plate to the right and your work piece on the platform to the left and then you copy. Edited December 3, 2015 by Paul hd Lucky2 1 Quote
