Wow Vern, what an amazing piece, the piece of wood you used was perfect for this pattern. I've looked at this pattern many times, I just wasn't insane enough to try cutting it.

That looks amazing.  You did a terrific job.  Do you know how you are going to frame it yet?  Everyone says that it takes too much patience but when you think about it its only one hole at a time and who cares if it takes a month to cut, everything else we cut we cut one hole at a time. Do you agree Vern?

Have to agree with Marg on this one... 'one hole at a time'. Although it is a rather lengthy countdown to get them all cut.

Stunning piece of work cynbone! My hat is off to you!

When I start a project like this that is so intricate, I go into it with the thought that I just want to see how far I can get before it turns into caca, so I'm completely surprised when I can see that I might have a chance to be able to finish it. Bad news is that I made no plans about the framing of it. I made this mistake before with some owls and I still haven't done anything with it. I guess all I can do is cut about a half inch all the way around and stick some felt behind it and frame it.

My mindset going into one of these monsters is exactly what you said.. 1 cut at a time and try to plan my cuts at least 3-4 cuts in advance so not to have to make a cut that is between two delicate cuts and risk a break. I try and have plenty of beer on hand and lots of loud country rock on pandora. I'm proud and surprised that you take your time to comment on this stuff that I do. Thanks
