wombatie Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 G'day everyone, I'm back. We arrived home safe and sound last Thursday your Wednesday. Everyone is over their jet lag except for Liam our grandson but hopefully he is better tomorrow because he goes back to school. We all had a fantastic time and saw lots. I have hundreds of photos but they are still on my camera. When I get chance I will put some on here for you to see but please don't hold your breath because I have such a lot to do this week and next week is not looking any better. Highlights for me were Yosemite national park and the Grand Canyon. Low-lights for me were Disneyland and Venice Beach. Disneyland just interested in how many people they can pack in, not interested in making it easy for youngsters to get on rides and see everything. On the other hand Universal Studio's were the complete opposite, the kids had a ball. Loved the glitz of Las Vegas, was everything I expected it to be and more, and not one cent went into a machine. It was terrific meeting Dan but a pity Dick could not make it to San Diego. Forgot to mention previously, our first night in Pasadena we went to Jack in the Box and got locked in......The police rang to tell them to lock the doors because there was a gun man in the area. There were helicopters, police cars, fire engines and ambulances going past for about 3 hours. We lasted in Jack in the Box for an hour and then we left and walked quickly back to our hotel. This was only our 3rd night in America, what a start to the holiday. Marg bobscroll, lawson56, dgman and 1 other 4 Quote

LarryEA Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 So pleased you had a good time. Up's and downs, highs and not so highs. Oh, and Marg, California has laws, laws, laws, bans, bans and bans on any gun so so I suspect the local authorities preformed that 'Guns in the Street' just for your enjoyment. Quote
ChelCass Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Never been to Disneyland and have never had a desire to go. I figured it would be exactly as you explained. I have also been to the grand canyon and was in awe. Such a beautiful place. Hopefully someday if you get back to the USA you get a chance to see Yellowstone, and several of the canyon in Utah (my favorite state). Glad you are home safe. It will take a bit to get rested up, when you get the chance we will be waiting to see your pictures. Quote
WayneMahler Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 Welcome back Marg. Glad you enjoyed the trip to the States. I have heard that about Disneyland. Both in California and Florida. Never been there myself. As with a lot of others, waiting to see your photos once your rested and caught up. Quote
