Vott1 Posted July 19, 2016 Report Posted July 19, 2016 I'd go for the Roo steaks, I gotta know what vegmite is like, I mean, I've been song to that song for years and now thanks to this post I know what it looks like, so what does it taste like. Somebody please explain? Quote
wombatie Posted July 19, 2016 Author Report Posted July 19, 2016 I am not a lover of Vegimite so to me it tastes salty, yeasty and yuk. I know the some too. I'm a happy little Vegimite as bright as bright can be We all enjoy our Vegimite for breakfast lunch and tea. etc etc etc. If you try it don't spread it to think onto your toast it is only meant to be lightly added. Rob Posted July 19, 2016 Report Posted July 19, 2016 I'm not a Vegemite or Marmite fan either but they take Marmite pretty seriously here in NZ. The only plant producing Marmite in New Zealand was badly damaged in the 2011 Christchurch earthquake which led to the infamous shortages known as Marmageddon www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10793281 where prices topped $63 for a 250g jar. 125 CSL Posted July 19, 2016 Report Posted July 19, 2016 As a kid in the mid to late 60's Wisconsin we had vegimite. I remember we put butter on the toast first then the vegimite. It was better then some of the other things I suffered through as a kid. (cod liver oil, oatmeal, to this day if I try to put a spoon full of that dull gray mess is my mouth I throw up, even though from Wisconsin god I truly hate brats,) Quote
LarryEA Posted July 19, 2016 Report Posted July 19, 2016 I'm with Rob, "Bacon, sausage, egg and toast for me Marg." Nothing 'new' to start the day, stick with what I know tastes good. Oh, and coffee please. wombatie 1 Quote
