I bought a used ridgid bandsaw and I'm looking to buy new blades, such as a resaw blade and one for making bandsaw boxes. I'm looking for best brands to buy and I'm sure there are many opinions like with scroll saw blades. I ordered a riser block to go from 6" resaw capacity to 12" capacity and that will take it from a 93 1/2" to 105" blade so looking for best place to get them from. Thank you for your opinions, Jeff.

Suffolk Machinery is a respected source for bandsaw blades (Timberwolf brand) .  They have good customer service.  Call them and someone will answer all of your questions and recommend the proper blade for your needs.  Their prices are competitive.  I buy mine from a local place that cuts their own bands (Lennox brand) to length and welds them on-site.  It's a little cheaper and more convenient for me, but I have bought from Suffolk in the past and were satisfied with them.

I went through this a few months ago.  I put a riser block on my Grizzly saw.  I asked the question about vendor on the Family Woodworking forum, which I had belonged to for several years.  Of the responses I received, I'd say 90% recommended this vendor:  http://www.ellissaw.com/  I for some reason I can't remember, I went with this vendor:  https://www.sawblade.com/.  Probably I save $ .23 or something, I am tight, cheap, frugal or something.  I trust the people that recommended Ellis, just had to go down my own path.  Anyway, I got great service and although I do not use my band saw a whole lot, what I got did the job.  The thing about either one is, talk to them, tell them what you want to do and they will steer you right.  That way you don't waste money.

Thanks for the responses. I had a wood slicer for my craftsmen saw and wasn't happy with it but most of the problem was the saw. I'm hopping this ridgid saw i picked up will be a lot better when i'm done with the upgrades. I'ts identical to the grizzly. I picked it up for $150 from a guy my wife got my the dewalt scroll saw at a yard sale a couple weeks ago.

I have a band saw and have re-sawn lots of wood.  Cedar, walnut, maple oak....  Woodslicer cuts very well but I found it to dull quickly.  I now use re-saw blades from  "supercut"  They have a website but you will have to call them to place an order.  I get their best 1/2" carbide resaw blade 105" long for just over $25.  I use their 3/16" blade for making band saw boxes.

Jeff all I have ever used on my BS is Timber Wolf blades and I like them. I have heard a lot of good things about them so that is why I have always used them. When you call them you talk to people who know what they are talking about. How often do you find that?

I too buy Lennox for resawing. I get the  carbide blades and they are made in a shop that  I can drive to. Suffolk Machinery is a very good place to deal with.
