DukeNukem Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 I like um, but is it me or are the hooks uneven or are they supposed to be? Jerry Quote
Scrolling Steve Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 That is a happy key holder !...Like it ! Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 I kinda like the torched one a little better John. Both of them came out great. Thanks for sharing them with us. DW Quote
meflick Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Thanks for showing us the difference in using the torch and not John. I like them. Couple musicians in the family would love them I am sure. Quote
Lucky2 Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 John, in this case the torching made the cutting look better, but, it doesn't always work that way. Sometimes, people don't know where to stop with their torching. Other times, they torch things that should never be torched. It's a balancing act, does the piece need enhancement or not? Len Quote
amazingkevin Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Here is a comparison between a plain cutting an when I do some pencil torching. John Old Dust I'm glad you did it 2 ways i like them both but am partial to the burnt one. Quote
wombatie Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 (edited) Personally I don't like the pencil torching but I do like the pattern and the cutting. Well done John. Could you tell me where you got the pattern from please? Marg Edited October 21, 2016 by wombatie Quote
newfie Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 They both look great to me thanks for sharing Quote
olddust1 Posted October 21, 2016 Author Report Posted October 21, 2016 I think the pattern was in an old Pat Spielman issue. John Old Dust Quote
heppnerguy Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 I like the plain one better, but both are nice. I have found that what I like is not necessarily what appeals to others and that is a learning process for me that still challenges me with every project I decide to make. Thanks for sharing both of them as it keeps me thinking 'out of my box" Dick heppnerguy Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 Love it John they always bring a smile to my face. Roly Quote
rjR Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 Each of us has their own ideas of what is nice! I personally like the torching on many things; this included. Very nice work. I use a small piece of pvc pipe schedule 40 with a slot cut across the end to install cup hooks. ( The same 5/8th ID that I use for the cheat on drill press, chuck keys etc.It is about 7 inches long and just right for better strength with arthritis!))-- It works better than a pliers for installing the hooks without damaging them. rdatelle Posted October 22, 2016 Report Posted October 22, 2016 I think they both look good. The tour he'd one does set it off a little. I like them both. Quote
