Heading south

The wife and I are heading south to Gatlinburg, Tennessee tuesday morning, So I won't be around much for the next couple weeks. I'm taking my tablet to check in when I can. I'm hopefully going to make it to Judy Roberts Studio, I don't think I need anything there but it's nice to look at all her pieces. Tomorrow will be busy, got a couple things to button up in the shop and get everything loaded for the trip.

Clayton, that sounds like it might be an interesting trip, I would love to visit JGR's showroom. Have a safe trip, and get a few pics if possible.

Thank you all, I have been looking forward to this trip since we booked the cabin. I will try to remember some pictures.

Enjoy the trip Clayton.  Biggest problem we are having right now is the smoke that keeps coming in and out due to a lot of wildfires all about in the area.  Saw today that some of the trails in the Smokey Mtns. around Gatlinburg have been closed due to new wildfires burning there. We are in a significant drought so there is lots of concern with the fires and the colors were very muted this year.

 

I ran over to JGR's studio last week (its about 30-40 minutes away from me) to get a magnifying light for my 2nd saw.  (She had been out when I took my class last month.) She was there and Stacey the office manager.  We got a chance to talk and I suggested that she consider starting to video tape her classes and offer the class on video for those who cannot travel to her shop.  Especially since she is cutting back on the number of classes she is actually doing. I also asked her if she had considered starting to offer her patterns at PDF / electronic files that could be bought and immediately downloaded.  Another avenue she is willing to explore so if you guys have interest in her doing any of that let me know and I would be happy to give her the feedback.
