Kevin Latimer Posted January 15, 2017 Report Posted January 15, 2017 how do i make the circle on a pattern so that it is 1 7/8" in diameter for a 2" clock insert. thanks in advance Quote
Birchbark Posted January 15, 2017 Report Posted January 15, 2017 Hold down the Cntrl key, draw a circle. At the top of the window it says X Y Width Height and another small box that needs to be set to In. You can click the little lock symbol to tie them together, or just change each Width and Height separately. Make sure the small box is set to Inches and in Width type in 1.875 Height type in 1.875 Now move the circle to where you want it. I'm not an expert, but that's how i would do it. Dan Posted January 15, 2017 Report Posted January 15, 2017 Yes, what Russell said is perfect. I put together a quick tutorial to give you a visual of making a circle in Inkscape. Circles.doc Kevin Latimer, woodknots, Fab4 and 1 other 4 Quote
Fab4 Posted January 15, 2017 Report Posted January 15, 2017 Dan: When you first go into inkscape to make the circle Does the Didplay mode have to be to OUTLINE in order to see the circle I know I can change the stroke and fill if I'm in Normal view mode Thanks Fab4 Quote

In OUTLINE you will not see the colors but you can still resize it the same way. I always use NORMAL mode. P.S. If they had an ABNORMAL mode it would fit my sense of humor a little better. don in brooklin on Posted January 16, 2017 Report Posted January 16, 2017 I do as above but I set cross hairs in the middle of the circle. Two lines at right angles with Besier and group, align to centre and to middle. Phantom Scroller and Kevin Latimer 2 Quote
djhwoodwerks Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 When I add cross hairs for my drill points, I just use the text tool, type a + sign and choose Segoe UI Light font and then put it where I want to drill Kevin Latimer 1 Quote
