I am running out of business cards, so it's time to reorder. I am not happy with what I came up with last time. I am not very creative, which is why I am not a pattern maker. I am looking for ideas. Tell me about your business cards. I will be ordering from Vista Prints.

I need to order some too Dan.  This time, I'm going to follow Iggy's advice and make sure the card reflects what I make.  People need to be able to look at your card and go "Oh yeah, that was the guy who did the cool scrollsaw pictures" or whatever you sell most of.

Don't forget to show us what you come up with,

Not creative!!!!!!!! That is a joke, you are one of the best scrollers on this forum plus you teach scrolling. I would call that being very creative.

That is my story and I am sticking to it.

I have gone through 3 different designs so far and am very happy with my current one.

1) It shows what I make as a reminder to folks that look at it a week later.

2) It's slightly unique in that it's vertical instead of horizontal

3) It's rather concise without a lot of clutter

Good luck and show us what you come up with!

I used to make my own. Went with Vista print this time. I only have a logo and an e-mail address on my card. Since i don't really have a business just a hobby that does well. I don't or very rarely do a commission I only give the card to people I would like to stay in contact with.

I am also not very creative so at some point I will sit down with my sister, the true artist in the family, or the daughter of a friend that wants to set up a web site for me.

Thanks Don, but I call that being crafty. Sure, I have altered patterns to suite my needs and such and I can teach, but I am not artistic!

As a former print shop owner that worked with graphic designers, I can say that is a very good card. Many people try to get too creative. You want a card to say who you are, what you do and how to get a hold of you...all in an attractive way. Yours does that.

This is one I just created for myself. It is a proof from Vista Print. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I will use cleaner pics for the actual business card.

Thanks

Jim

As a former print shop owner who worked with a lot of graphic designers, personally I would get rid of the stripe on the left side of the card. It is relief woodcarving and that doesn't seem to be what you do. Then just spread out the rest of the card to fill the space and don't add anything else. I think it would be cleaner that way and be a very nice card. As they say, take my advice for what it cost. LOL

Hey Jim,

Nice looking card.  My free advice is that you have the "race tracks" and "jigsaw puzzles" wording on the card twice.  Pick one place only.  No need to duplicate within such a small space.

It's fun to showcase what we do, isn't it?  Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the code Iggy.  It cost me $13 for 500 cards but another $9 for postage :x
