Ought to make Gator feel good, or maybe he would not sell his for that price. I e-mail and told the poster I couldn't buy it, but as a scroller I thought it was an awful good job. Got an e-mail back in short order. It was the daughter. said her parents were down sizing and had to sell stuff. Her 83 year old father made it. bandaideman Posted March 13, 2017 Report Share Posted March 13, 2017 I have attempted the chess Checker set but never could get the drawers on either side fixed to work. the squares were not square enough for me so after I got the to done I desided to cut squares of Maple and rosewood and glued on top of the ones shown in Pic. I then just put fixed oak on the ends and a little decoration. That was years ago and I may try again some day now that I am more experienced. JTTHECLOCKMAN Posted March 15, 2017 Report Share Posted March 15, 2017 (edited) I have that chess set pattern and have had it for many years but never got around to cutting. After seeing this I may just break those patterns out again and have a go at it. Nice price on it. I have a clock pattern or two that I think I will also bring back to life.
